I'm in need of a intellect overhaul, basically I just cant seem to remember much stuff & it's really getting to me, for example if I hear a song on the radio that I've heard before I cant remember who sings it unless it's one thats been played an awfull lot, as they do. Been wondering if there's anything I could take to help my memory or exercises I could do. I've heard cod liver oil tablets are meant to be quite good, anyone tried these or got any other tips.
I did hear of somthing else but cant remember what it was :D

Regards

Omega 3 is meant to help, so you would be right with the cod liver oil. Also there are some "memory boosting" courses available to buy on tape etc but they are quite expensive

That's normal, I'd make a shopping list in my mind as to what's needed, walk to tesco (10 min) do my shopping and on the way back realise "Bugger forgot xyzq" ><. A list sorts that out :D

A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Drink alcohol.

You won't believe this but your lack of memory could be down to a problem with your liver. I've been told that if you are eating things that don't agree with your body your liver goes into panic mode and this results in a variety of symptoms. You may start putting on weight and/or experience skin problems, digestion problems and even memory problems. You're liver may not be working as it should be so the crap gets sent all over your body rather than being digested properly. You might need to go on a detox programme and flush out the system.

I'm the same mate, I just try harder to take note of things - I day dream a hell of a lot too.

From wikipedia, try Ginkgo Biloba.

The extract of the Ginkgo leaves contains flavonoid glycosides and terpenoids (ginkgolides, bilobalides) and has been used pharmaceutically. It has many alleged nootropic properties, and is mainly used as memory and concentration enhancer, and anti-vertigo agent.

Omega 3's also help.

I do remember things a little better, but I don't constantly take the stuff either. It's expensive stuff though I think.

Good diet, a little bit of caffeine, regular exercise (of the brain - e.g. puzzles and keeping it stimulated)
