luckily turned my pc off when the alert come up so im hoping theres no damage to my cpu. Anyone got recommendations for an easy fitting and good cooler for an abit IP35 mobo?

Overclocking a 2180 so has to be good at keeping temps down and I dont want another tunic tower after this one dying -.-

You could probably use the pc for ages before any damage is gone, most new heatsinks could passively cool CPU's if not under load like just windows. As for the fan, Noctua tend to be the best I hear? Not sure on the fitting.

return the overclock to stock speed and it will run fine, unless you have no airflow in your case

i think any 120mm fan will fit.. but im not certain, if anything you can trim it down a few mm to fit?

just purchase a good quality 120mm x 25mm fan and swap it for the failed tuniq one
i believe its already been mention but the noctu fans are quite good and used by some as ther cpu fan

theres just a few you could use
if it was me id go for the last one the ys-tech due to the massive amount of air it can push through the fins of your heatsink with a 7 volt resitor on it the air flow will drop to approx 80cfm but the db's should drop to 30 or less
alternativly look around for some noctu vortex 120mm fans as they push around the 80cfm air with less noise

EDIT: Noctua NF-P12 Vortex-Control CPU Cooler Fan Airflow 92,3 m³/h Acoustical Noise 19,8 dB(A)
thats the one id be looking for but OCuk dont appear to stock this model they have the case model which has less airflow

Unless OCuk has the specs wrong for this fan

Its very easy to swap fans over, i reversed the flow of mine by pulling the fan out and rotating it 180 degrees to push air out the top of the case (Antec 900) when i first bought it, 10 minute job at the most :)

at work i swap out the tuniq fan with an Akasa Amber very quiet and temps are still great... They are Dual Ball Bearing as well so lifespan is loads better than sleeve...
