Perfomance from 2gb ram to 4gb on vista.

I went from 2Gb to 4Gb ( 3.3Gb usable on vista 32bit ) and windows seems much smoother and responsive, but thrn it could be my imagination lol

I went from 2gb to 4gb and noticed quite a big difference in the loading and exiting of games. In game it stayed about the same speed. Windows also seemed more responsive.

Take a look at this analysis for 2gb vs 4gb, it's got a lot of good info.

Agreed, best 30 squids I spent in ages.

Was sceptical to start with but windows boots faster, games load and exit much faster. You can ALT-TAB out of games without delay. Improves minimum framerates in Crysis as demonstrated in link above. Haven;t benched other games but it 'feels' snappier.

Couldn't recommend it more and there is no reason not too with the price of RAM these days! :)

Just re-read, you haven't stated the OS you intend to run with. You will still see noticeable improvement if you remain with 32bit OS and not see full 4GB as you would in an x64 environment.

I upgraded from 2GB to 4GB recently on Vista 32-bit, and I have to say it has been a great investment. I do a lot of multi-tasking (usually a few VMs, firefox and a bunch of development related apps such as Photoshop and Visual Studio 2005) and I've noticed a massive improvement. I'm actually looking at upgrading to 8GB and installing the 64-bit edition, as I quickly use up that 4GB, but I'm an unusual case for this kind of thing.

Very strange as you don't even have use of 4GB on that 32bit OS unless you have no GPU memory or other. ;)

Either something is very wrong in that graph or its false, the max framerate of Crysis would have to have gone DOWN with 4GB of ram if the minimum has gone up loads and the average stayed the same.

Saying that, 4GB of ram is brilliant, would never use 2GB again.
