Why oh why do people insist on driving during the day with their lights on?

Unless you are in a Volvo, I can see no reason why people drive with their lights, on Friday at 1pm I saw some ditzy bird in a 57 plate Touareg with her lights on, followed by a fool in a 08 plate C class with his lights on.

I just don't understand

Had to get this off my chest.

Becuase we have Xenons are we are better than you. We need to make sure you and other road users know this.

Now get out of the way.

lol.

It is funny how it mainly seems to be people with Xenons that drive with their lights on during the day.

You would be suprised how many people dont "see you" so anything to help be seen is good.

I wonder if that is what the driver of the Touareg thought. :D

Because it's the difference between some old biddy not seeing my car when she's about to saunter otu of a junction, and the light bouncing off her retinas thus making her think twice :p

I always have my lights on whenever I drive (Xenons F T W - stupid word filter) :)

Wouldnt both of those cars have auto lights anyway? I notice that my lights are often on in the day if its a bit gloomy...

i thought this was going to be the case with all new cars in the future now so i'd get used to it.

I always drive with my lights on when it is dull in the hope that it will make me more visible.

I don't have Xenons so people can see that I'm poor though :(

Quite a few cars have running lights that always come on these days anyway. My dad's Mazda 6 for example.

I have no problem with people having their lights during any part of the day. I find it slightly strange you'd even get annoyed people want to be seen, and thus safe. I quite often drive with my lights on during the day in Autum, Winter and to a lesser extent Spring, not because I'm being a tart but as Im sure you're aware from the advanced driving course you've been on, they suggest during low level sunlight that you use your lights (As when the sun is low and in the eyes on oncoming traffic, unlit cars are near impossible to see.)

Now people not using lights in heavy rain just because it hasn't reached 7pm yet, that really annoys me. Don't even get me on old people and their use of fog lights in rain.

Can I add misaligned lights pointing up into the air/anywhere other than where they are supposed to point? Is this just everybody ramming walls when they park? How do they get so cocked up?
