The Wipeout HD Information Thread

could someone please explain to me what the wipout hd unlock download is??

when purchased on psn i got 2 downloads the fuul game and something called wipeout hd unlock , do i need to download it?

Im the same - my gaming tag has always been p01yn0mi41 since Q3 days (So nearly a decade) and annoyingly I couldnt use it - polynomial007 will have to do (random numbers at the end seems to work) :p

Download/Install both - youll need it :). Seems it originally was going to be a trial version with an unlock code (like Super Stardust HD)

Your doing better then me, my best going for zico is 32.38 :( and i cant see how im gonna beat it !

My only dissapointment with this game is that it seems to be all about tight timetrials and less emphasis on racing :/

Ah buggery, sorry mate, i accidentally deleted your Forum ID and sc(+)pes PSN ID and the two got mashed together it seems. Fixed now and added all of the people who have posted in this thread since then.

The current PSN ID list is now this, if i've made any mistakes or if anyone wants adding just give me a shout.

I agree that the single player is focused mainly on time trials, but join us online, THAT'S where the racing takes place :D

So far I obviously boost to start the level, then use the boost just after the triple power ups round the first corner to get a barrel roll in. I'm working on barrel rolling up the ramp onto the shortcut bit, but its taking a while!

Artistically i agree it's nothing to write home about, it's just what all wipeout tracks have looked like since the dawn of time. Technically however i view it as a breakthrough, 1080p (with this dynamic frame buffer admittedly) at a solid 60fps? Madness, even the huge budget titles like GT5:P haven't managed anything near that and don't look much better tbh.
 
i cant see how anyone is not impressed with the graphics and how it runs each to their own really
easily the best looking game i have played this generation and the 60fps is just a bonus something most wanted from this gen really makes the game work
 
just stuck all the orginal wipeout music onto a playlist, added a few peeps to my friends list as my friends on mine seem rubbish on the leaderboards compared to mine, lol

I save the boost from first lap and use it at the line to get max boost for starting next lap, hit all boost and I use my turbo and barrel roll up the ramp. after last boost on ramp i barrel roll onto lower track and catch the last boost to the line. Thats my current best and cant see what to do different ;)
