I'm a very happy chappy :D - And I cannot believe I went for SO LONG without an external flash, think I'm going to bury myself in Strobist this week :p

And that image is hopefully the last one that the 350D will take in it's current state...it's being sent away ;)

Anyway, yay! :D \o/

as i said to you last night whilst you were here, you need to get the grip :p i cant believe you dont like it muchos better :p

350D to 40D is a nice upgrade!

I agree about the grip, once you've given one a try you won't want a camera without one.

Grips are most of the time an inconvenience. The extra weight and bulk with a fairly small amount of extra functionality mean that I leave mine off 90% of the time now. They are useful when using long lenses and help to balance heavier telephotos but I certainly try to avoid using it where possible.

I tried Toms grip (oo er!) on the weekend and I loved the hand strap but didnt think much about the addidtinal weight. Plus my hand fits the 40D pretty much perfectly so I dont need the extra room to grip. Its a damn shame I can't have the hand strap though :(

I used to swear by grips but I haven't had mine on camera for 3 months now. They are good if you do a lot of portrait work or want to have the camera at hand all the time by combining them with the hand strap but I quite like the 40D without the grip.

i heard with a grip you can have to batteries? and it improves the FPS? but i duno if its true? I would love to improve my FPS as i sometimes takes sequences but the FPS on my D80 sucks :( not fast enough

It improves the fps on a few nikons but not the canons. Two batteriesis neither here nor there too, it's the increased balance of it that makes it so awesome. Maybe it's because I have huge hands, but the 40d is too small for me w/o grip!

How many FPS do i get on the D80 without the grip and on how many FPS can i count with the grip? I also heard there is better batteries to incress the FPS?

So it is worth in investing in the grip?

I wasnt aware you need the grip to have the handstrap, ive seen 5D's with no grip + handstrap, granted the 5D is slightly bigger, but i believe they have the exact same connections on the side/bottom of the camera for one.

Hey Tom, fancy making one of those nice cameras "just disappear" into my hands? :D

I'm still a n00b. Wish I could afford the luxuary of doing what I enjoy.

I hope to see some nice piccies now Phate :)
