Has anyone else had this problem with their G7? I've done some research on google and it seems like a common problem with logitech mice. I haven't been able to find a solution for the problem though, only thing that is suggested is to get a new one. I really don't want to part with my G7 as its the best mouse I've ever used.

Will logitech replace it? I bought the mouse about a 15 months ago.

Mine went the same way, logitech cannot replace it as they no longer make them in Europe. They will offer you a G9 or a MX Revolution instead, or you can do what I did and ask for a full refund.

This happened with my brothers g7 a while ago, you should contact logitech and theyll probably replace it for you. There support is one of the best ive ever heard of, they also have a novel way of conducting replacements, theyll often ask you to destroy the defective product and mail them pics to prove this then they send out a replacement. Bro had do do this with his g7 and they replaced it with a new version g5 mouse.

Just contacted support. I asked for it to be exchanged for the G9. Is the g9 just as good? Kinda turned off by the fact its wired, but its no big deal as the double clicking is driving me mad.

Happens to my G7 every so often. I find pushing the buttons in really hard a few times seems to cure it. Seems to be a fairly common problem. Not tried replacing mine as there's nothing else out there as good as the G7 (even with its faults).

I would get the G5 over the G9 personally. If you like the G7 you will like the G5 as it is exactly the same shape and sensor I think. It depends if you like the design of the G9 or not...

Logitech RMA support is awesome, the serials were sorta washed out on my G5 so they asked me to take pictures of the mouse and then destroy it :p

*edit*

Pfft! a bit of superglue and it will be right as rain!
:)

Its a shame we have to destroy them like this.
Cos the double clicking is really easy to fix. Well... if you can use a soldering iron it is. The parts are readily available too and cost roughly 50p.

HA! I think its hilarious they asked you to destroy one of their products then take a picture and send it to them. Pure genius. :D

Fortunately for me, my mouse has stopped double clicking. I moved my psp away from the battery charger and weirdly enough, the clicking problems went away. Strange but I'm happy its working.

I agree its an excellent idea.
They send you a new mouse, you don't have to pay for postage to return the old one and they don't have to pay to dispose of old IT equipment in the correct manner. Its a win win win situation for all.

Just a shame cos I know I could have fixed it and had a free mouse :p
