Ok I am taking the plunge (excuse the pun) and going water...

So far I have a collection of parts and some stuff that I can get my hands on just want some advice really..

I have laying around a few things I have been "collecting"

Two PA120.3 Thermochill (is it worth getting the shrouds for these, if I am looking for top performance)..

D-Tec Fuzion 2 & EK Supreme CPU blocks.. (I understand the D-Tec is less restrictive? but the EK should give slightly better perfomance?)

Am going to use my 150CFM Detla's can always run them nice and silent at 800RPM but am wondering if you get much benefit going over 130CFM on the Thermochill rads?

I will be using 1/2 barbs and 7/16 tubing I am right in thinking this is the best option?

My next questions are about pumps and res..

I can get my hands on a laing DDC-1T Ultra for cheapish.. are there any other better performing options? and anyone have any recommendations on pump tops? Am looking for max performance

In regards to res other than looking nice do bay res ofter anything over just a "normal" res? again can pick up a EK Multioption 250 for cheapish.. unless anyone has any other recommendations?

Am still keeping my air stuff want to do some benchies at low ambient :p but I need some silence and still want to run a large overclock.. something water is much better at than air!

and anyways have another "project" in mind once I have this up and running :)

Haha, well i am doing the same as you at the moment. I finally got sick of the buzzing of fans and huge noice when you want to get a big OC.

Your setup looks really good to me, though i am only running on what i have been reading for the last few months :)

Looking forward to the next project, whatever it is!

Thermochills are optimised for low cfm fans, for max performance you want a black ice gtx.

Liang Ultra's are considered to be the best pumps, alpha cool do the best tops.

7/16th tubing on 1/2 barbs is a good choice, you will need a hairdryer/boiling water to heat up the tubing then force it on.

Preformance shrouds are said to drop temps by a few degrees.

A res is a res really and there are no real advantages over them apart from ease to fill and ease to bleed. The xspc bay res is very good, easy to fill and bleed.

How much extra performance would I see from the Black Ice over the Thermochills with high CFM fans? Also I want to beable to run "idle" with my delta's doing like 800RPM so the system is silent.. would that still be possible with a more restrictive rad?

Yeah i suppose if you'e going to be ignoring gfx then one loop will do the bridges and a cpu with good rads.

Are you getting bridge blocks Pneumonic?

I have pretty much all my board apart from SB all on one loop, same as OPs setup 120.3, Fuzion V1, asus mosfets and XPSC NB block, have dual bay rez and 18w pump, does the job quite nicely.

Just doing CPU for now... will probably use both the rads just because I can.. I will need them both mounted for the 2nd loop at some point so may as well get them both in and working... will make a 2nd loop for NB/SB/Mosfets/RAM at some point and just move one of the rads over to doing that.. and may add the GFX into the 2nd loop once I buy one thats worth WC'in

OK well everything has arrived...

Setup at present is:

*2 Thermochill PA120.3 (I know this is overkill am going to move onto a seperate loop once I have more stuff)

XSPC Radtop / Top thing on Lacing DDC Ultra 18watt

EK Supreme CPU block

all on 1/2 barbs and 7/16 tube

Got the system filled with liquid... tested it for about 2 hours and no leaks..

Got it all hooked up now but still seem to have some bubbles in the loop.. am I right in thinking these will slowly make their way to the res?

Now have it setup and running actually

They should do, so long as the res is near the top of the loop.

well ran it over night and all the bubbles have gone from the tubing.. I think there are a few traped in the rads have been giving them a shake now and then and they are slowly comming out... mostly importantly doesnt look like its leaked at all overnight.. my kitchen towel was unmarked :) (UV black liquid so nice and easy to see!)

Will spend tonight tarting it all up and adding the new case fans and that and then can see what sort of cooling power its has :)

OCUK's biggest air proponent has gone water? That’s almost as shocking as the 700 billion US rescue bill that failed to pass through congress :D
