Independent BMW garage near Banbury?

Does anyone know of an independent BMW garage in or near Banbury?

The only one around that way I would recommend is BMWorx. They're nearly 40 miles from the centre of Banbury, but I and others on this forum have had good experiences with them

Another vote for BMWorx - superb honest service and decent prices. Based in Stoke Mandeville.

The 520i only goes out in emergencies.

They have two e39 523i's. At least one of which is an auto.

Excellent BMW specialist. The do MINI too.

hmm BMWorx is 45 miles from where I work, 70 miles from home :eek:

Edit: Are their prices usually cheaper than main dealer?

Their labour charge is £45 + VAT, so massively cheaper than a dealer!

Yup, usually a fair bit cheaper and will always use genuine BMW parts.

£54+VAT now, still half the price of a dealer.

They gave a reasonable quote and have an e39 523 available.

I still can't decide which oil to use - Mobil 1 0w40 or castrol edge 0w30. I know both are LL01 approved but which would you use?

BMWorx use castrol edge but I can still get it cheaper than their prices so tempted to provide the oil which they said is fine!

Car is a 2001 330ci

I'd just use Castrol Edge, Castrol 0w30 is the factory fill so whilst there is nothing wrong with Mobil 1 I see little reason to change

Plus it sounds WAY cooler. And its advertised in Need for Speed games which means its TUNER TYTE LOL.

How much did they actually quote for a service? I find Oxford BMW to be almost as cheap as most independent garages if you supply your own oil, and for the sake of a few quid it's worth keeping the BMW service history.

£150 for the oil service which is 40 mins labour so approx £50 labour, £100 oil+filter. Nick Whale in Warwick quoted £200 for this service.

I need a couple of other things doing as well which total 1.5-2 hours in labour so could save £150-200 in labour costs over a main dealer.

This is why I simply cannot be bothered with independants. My last Oil Service cost me £140 inclusive of VAT and oil (Which I didnt supply) at Ocean BMW in Torbay. The last service I had was an Inspection I - I supplied the oil, and it cost me including the oil £210, again, at BMW..

So I saved £10 on your indy by... going to BMW :confused:
