Do I need to reinstall DirectX if I want to see the DX10 goodness (Or lack thereof) in games? I've installed all the new drivers, and I know that I'm technically running DX10 anyway since its vista, but do I need to do anything?

how do you run DX9 in Vista?
Have a non-DX10 card? I mean, its still running DX10, just without the features, since the card can't do them.
I was just curious as to if I needed to reinstall DX10 to make it realise I had the DX10 stuff, in a similar way to the fact that from going between two ATI cards, you still need to uninstall then reinstall the drivers.
you just need to keep directx upto date. i assume you have the latest august 08 release?

Add -Dx9 to the end of the game shortcut.

You'll know your running Dx10 when your games are slower.![]()
You can't do ANY DirectX10 without a DirectX10 card. It's a fundamental change to the way the entire pipeline works. Microsoft also are very strict on what makes a DirectX10 card. (and even moreso strict in DirectX10.1 and Dx11)
