MOBO-Asus Rampage Extreme Intel X48
CPU-Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
GRAPHICS CARD-HD 4870x2
HDD-Seagate Barracuda 7200.1 500GB 7200RPM S300 32MB
PSU-Corsair Memory 750W TX SERIES ATX
RAM-Corsair Memory 4GB (2X2GB KIT) DDR3 1333MHZ 240PIN DIMM
CASE-ANTEC 900

what do you think then

welcome to the forum! tbh brand new full comps are weary with nehalem just around the corner but if your set on a new one right now that looks pretty sufficient..

anyone know if a 4870x2 will fit in an antec 300?

looks nice, I think I'd prefer the P45Q right now though.

post some piccies?
all i have at the moment is the case, hdd, psu i am getting the cpu and mobo next month and then the rest after that so as soon as i get mid way through the build i will post some picks thanks

Using a X48 with an 4870x2 seems like overkill, are you planning on adding another card to this in crossfire? If not get a P45 and save some money.

Try to avoid DDR3 if you can, its not really needed yet and will just cost a lot more money then you need to. You will get exactly the same results as some of the higher end DDR2.

Replace the 500GB with a 640MB model, the new 320MB platers on them will run quicker then the old 250MB ones. Avoid 250MB, 500MB, 750MB drives as they are old tech now. :p

Doh, just noticed you already got the harddrive. Mabe get a 320MB one as an OS drive, and use the 500MB for storage.
