Just been looking at prices of quads and the Q9450 and Q9550 are the same price? Is this right? Why would anyone buy the Q9450??

Am I missing something, is the Q9550 lacking features or something??

If you get a new stepping Q9550 they overclock to the moon as well; several competitors are selling rigs with 9550s at 3.9ghz+.

I'm wanting to get a Q9550, but not sure whether to just get a C1 Stepping CPU or wait for the E0 to finally arrive  Can't remember what the stepping on the Q6600 was (B3 perhaps..? Memory isn't so good, am getting old lol) before it changed to the G0 Stepping but it does make a big difference to the overclocking performance as far as I remember. I'd really like to have some sort of update from OcUK on the availability of E0 Stepping Q9550s. :(

Dont worry about it, just get the C1. Mine does 4Ghz on 1.32V. Guaranteed your motherboard will be the limiting factor on any overclock whether it be C1 or E0
