My M1530 arrived today and more than happy, especially as it was such a bargain (outlet).

Thanks to everyone for all the advice I found over here :)

Got mine back in Feb, what is a good deal on these now.....
How much did ya get it for and what was the spec??

Was this including delivery? Whats gaming like on it? Please with the quality of the build?

guys i need your thoughts on this 1530 that i have just seen on the high street, now with it been of the street i get it as is but here is the spec of the machine

c2d t7250 (2.0ghz 800mhz 2mb cache)
vista home premium
4gb memory
250gb hard drive
blu-ray rewriter drive
15.4" truelife
8600m gs 256mb

i dont think the blu-ray is a rewriter just a reader combo job, and they also dont state what res the laptop is but there asking for £899.99 which to me seems a bit steep granted it does have a blu-ray drive but still ?????

Yeah price is all inclusive. Haven't gamed on it yet (I'm not a gamer), but from what I've used so far it seems very fast (Photoshop, video editing\rendering etc). Build is great, feels very stirdy. Was happy that it still had some of the plastic bits to peel off as a well - such a good feeling :D

Got mine for £609, that was with a 250Gb drive, I then purchased the Samsung 320J hard disk making it £684 INC in total. I put the 320Gb into the laptop and the 250Gb drive that was in there before into a Western Digital Passport Caddy .. :)

so £684 for the spec in my signature + 250Gb external HD :), this was back in Feb/March.

Just found out that one I bought has all marks all over the inside. I thought it was the plastic film on it was bubbled, but the plastic underneath has all swirl bubble marks on it :/

Damn, your sig says 800mhz i take it that they are running at 667?

Unfortuantely, yes they are running at 667...... I got the PC2-6400 as they were the same price as the PC2-5300 at the time of purchase.

It does mean that when I replace the M1530 and jump to a Montevina chipset based laptop I'll be able to use this memory at the full 800Mhz.

anyone with the higher spec models and a 9 cell battery, what's the battery life for typical web browsing / listening to mp3's etc? just a rough estimate woud be great.

I've got the 2.5Ghz one, with 9 cell battery.

Currently got Vista set on power saving, basically just downlocks the CPU and GPU, but is still fully usuable for web browsing etc.

Sitting here posting this, with music and msn on, the battery meter in Vista says I have over 5h remaining! I'm guessing that I'll get a bit less than that, but it's still a pretty decent time!
