Very interesting. I like how he points out that they are making new discoveries by watching the way the robots decide to put themselves back together. That in itself seems a little AI.
I'd like to know how much of the "reassembly" is based on proper intelligence on the part of the separate robots and how much on scripted scenarios/some rehearsed situation. Still, I can see this sort of thing becoming pretty big with swarms of robots and that kind of thing.
