Surely this they should be about £30 about now. lol I'm shocked Sony have a nerve to be still asking crazy money for tech that is about eight years out of date. I just find it amusing. :D
 
If they were £30 brand new then how would Sony make any money on them? I can't see them ever dropping below £60 myself as I doubt there would be any profit left in it if it did.

If people keep buying it, why should they lower the price? It still sells incredibly well for its age.

I think it may get a price drop this year but this topic is a bit silly :p
 
I'm sure they cost next to nothing to produce ancient tech. I can't understand why people are prepare to pay 90 pounds. Maybe they have brain damage. lol For another £40 you could get a Xbox 360 Arcade. I just think Sony ARE ripping people off.
 
because its cheaper than £130 for an xbox and £300 for a ps3, it has a massive games catalogue with more for kids, plus its cheaper to replace if broken.

Not at all £90 to play the best console for many generations with the biggest libary of games available, and with some real cheap great games to match. Cheapest way for people to play rockband, guitar hero, singstar etc i can understand why they still sell well.

There are still lots of people in the world who don't own a PS2.

At the moment if your going to be choosing a console it still has the best library of games available and you can pick most of the top games up for under £20 instead of £35 / £40 like PS3, 360 and Wii games.

This topic is stupid.
 
What is an extra £40? The price one game.... Surely it's better use the 40 pounds and jump into the current generation.

I'm sure the 360 versions of Rock Band and Gitar Hero cost the same price has the PS2 version and there's more content for the 360 versions.
 
I've seen second hand SNES's go for £30. £90 for a PS2 and access to its amazing game library, is a good deal. Plus, the games are cheap now. £30 for a brand new PS2 sounds retarded and I'd be more cautious buying it at that prize too.

Another thing, the PS2 is still alive and getting games.

How good is your maths (and your spelling :) ) and how sure are you?

Guitar Hero 3 (with wireless guitar) on PS2 RRP is £49.99 and 360 is £69.99.
Rock Band in a Box (Instruments) £129.99 on PS2 and 360
Rock Band (Solus) £29.99 PS2 and £49.99 on 360

Reasons why PS2 costs £90 currently:

1.Loads of people still don't own one.

2.There are some good games still being released for it.

3.This point being most hard hitting, current PS3's can't play PS2 games. Hence forcing people to buy a PS2 to play the backlog of quality games.

Luckily for me I got my PS2 slim line brand new with the Buzz bundle for £40 a few months back from a well known book store:D
