I had a really awkward moment about 3 weeks ago with one of my students.
She was dropped off by a female family member who gets out of the car and says -
"Dave, Dave Poole?"
"Yes"
"Its me, **** ******"

Oh, hi blah blah blah, what relation are you to *****?"
"I'm her Grandma"
Of course the student starts asking questions and we just tell her we knew each other when we were 18
