Just wanted to share a few of these photos with you from a recent work trip to Japan. I stayed in Tokyo and was lucky enough to have a day off and have a little explore about. There not neccessarily meant to be arty photos, just those snaps I thought came out best in Black and White. Any comments would be welcome!

Many thanks

Thanks!! They were all taken with my Canon 400D. I thought whilst i was there, I'd buy some kit so i grabbed a 17-85mm EF-S Canon lens, so glad i did, the metro pic was taken on the way back from Bic camera (if anyone knows tokyo!, the one off the hanzamon line) it was brilliant! :)

Thanks for the kind comments!

Any chance of putting some slightly larger ones up? Bit of a PITA going to Imageshack and being told tht a friend in Hull fancies me...!

This thread is making me very jealous. It's been two years since I went to Japan :(

I'm saving up for another trip there and plan on taking a decent camera with me this time round.

Some nice shots there. Definately work better for me in your high contrast B&W. 4 and 5 are my pick from that bunch.

Great photos Greg. I personally prefer the colour ones. Wish I could take photos like that.

I've been wanting to visit Tokyo for ages, hopefully we'll go there for part of our honeymoon...............if we ever get around to organising the wedding!

Hi i am new to photography and just bought my 1st DSLR which is the canon 400D with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens Kit, i am wondering how you get awesome pictures like these ?

bullet train? do they really go like 300mph?

indeed they do! the one on its own, the 'platypus' one is the faster of the two. i didn't go on that one, i went on the other looking one. Unfortionately it only went 267KPH (used my Blackberry GPS) which is about 160MPH, but that was near the end of our journey.

Its interesting, they don't have budget airlines in Japan because the trains are such good value for money and are so punctuial (sp?).

I went on the EuroStar to Paris last weekend (I know!) and that went 300KPH!

Thanks for all the kind comments.

Regards,

GR
