Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

The only reason I don't play Delta is because theres no room for strategy or tactics against the aliens and I can see Delta getting old fast on those parts!

The Aliens are a real shame on every difficulty to be honest. Though they're really no harder to dispatch on Delta. Like when you come out of Core with barely any ammo and you have to face a load of smaller ones before meeting Prophet, i did the whole thing without firing a shot.

Like i read in one review, play the game untill you face the aliens.. then restart and play the first bit all over again.

probably been answered but theres like thousands replys in here and its late :p

what best setting with decent framerate for 4850 and this game.

must say from quick go i had its looking a lot better than the first part.

I'm running 1440*900 with everyting maxed and no AA but its on a 3870x2 and it runs fine! avg about 30fps! (feels faster tho)

Make sure you run DX9 mode (far faster), then you should be able to play all Gamer (high) no fuss, then just make a quick system.cfg file enabling sunshafts, pom, and colorgrading and you'll have a game that looks very much like Enthusiast (V High) without the massive performance drop.

In your system.cfg just add in the following:

con_restricted = 0

r_WaterGodRays = 1
r_sunshafts = 1
r_colorgrading = 1
r_usePom = 1

r_TexturesStreaming = 0

Sorted :D

There's a lot of other things missing that I noticed off the bat - the ocean FFT is off (3D waves) plus the pyrotechnics of the explosions aren't that great either (there's no flares). You can enable ocean FFT via a single command.
e_water_ocean_fft = 1
Unfortunately I don't know the variable for the wicked looking explosions and particle effects - I'm thinking it's just down to particle effects being set to 4 as a whole in the particles cvar, which is a bit of a bummer as you may as well set it all to enthusiast in the first place, being as it has a big performance knock.

now i'm at a stage where there's a big airfield, just went up a watchtower and 'used' the radio/computer, looks like it's about to kick off

is this the last 'level'?

:)

The voice acting is so improved it's not even funny! Psycho in the first game seemed like some **** annoying token British guy, i'm sure you all remember the first scene in the plane..

Psycho: "They won't even know what hit 'em"
...
Prophet: "Can it Psycho"..

..with all the fluidity of smashing bricks into your ears. I've just met the downed pilot in Warhead and the difference is staggering. He's like a new character.

Delta is much harder on Warhead with the new set peices.. The train bit is pretty bloomin hard! I mean how many helicopters do the KPA have on that island?!

Yeah that level is pretty hard on delta but it's possible if you use the cannon on the train. Or you can just hide at the front of the train. You can even get off the train and take the level on foot, which takes longer but is abit easier as you pick off the KPA of one by one.

God dammit!!!!!! All this time i was on the wrong freakin' gun!!! I didn't realise there was one of those awesome cannon things closer to the back, i was alternating machine guns!

Still did it though :D (Albeit looking at the "Press fire to load now" screen more than the fighting one)
