Hey...

Ok, so this isn't aimed at this forum so much (mostly thanks to the strict rules employed here to stop such behavior) but, I am really astounded at how many idiots crawl out of the wood work online.

Forum arguments usually seem to degenerate to silly name calling, mostly revolving around calling the other a child, an idiot or worse.

One of my complete pet hates is also the "TL:DR" thing going around... seriously, so many people reply to just that in threads online. I mean come on, if you couldn't be bothered to read it, why waste the space, bandwidth, time of people to just type that? just don't reply if it doesn't appeal to you / is to much written for you to spend the time reading it.

Subtle examples also exists though it seems. Today, I was play World of Warcraft, leveling an alt. So I am level 44, and see in /general that a guy wants a Zul'Farrak group. Fair enough, I join it. Anyways,, after a while someone has to leave. I (since I am a warlock) summon the new guy in, a level 42 hunter.

Anyways, we get to a boss, and kill it. Excellent, a sword drops, (I don't remember the name right now) but basically it is for tanking, no stats on it, just basically for reducing melee damage, and increasing threat. The warrior who had been tanking for us (I know none of these people) basically jumps up and down, as they have been doing it for ages, and asks if it is ok to need. "Sure" comes the reply, and then what happens? the hunter needs also. He then wins, and basically insists that he can use the weapon as good as the warrior tank (despite the fact it has no stats on it to help their character.

It really seems that normal person, plus the Internet really does turn to a breeding ground for ignorant behavior.

Hence why the phrase was banned on here

Your thread seems a vent from wow. You will always run into idiots on interwebz. Heck I was invited to a boost only to not get an invite and then get ignored for asking to reinvite (was polite too) so yeah these are the sort of people you need to bare with. Thats life. I mean look at your average list:

Grammar/spelling police
Moral police
Liars
Boasters
Angry kids
Abusive kids
the self absorbed
the obsessed
religious

etc etc etc.

Benefit of the internet though is that you can chose what to absorb and what not to.

Better having a load of comments in a thread that you don't have to click on rather than the constant barrage of adverts on television.

I hate some of the people on TF2, but then thats what the mute button is for.

I didn't understand the second half of your post.:p

The internet makes people more honest, and sarcasm doesn't work as well. For those reasons people end up in far more arguments online than IRL.

Master Looter go

and yes wow is full of idiots

To your question it is so true Just look at azab350 then gets ownd by loads of people justice is served

It was an example really of online gaming idiots, I could have easily mentioned moments on counter strike, quake, or other games. It didn't bother me really what happened in wow, because it wasn't me that missed out on the item, however I was astounded the guy decided to do that.

Even in RL, on one hand people say it's easier to talk to strangers, yet you're more likely to find yourself getting into a fight with one.

Can't win either way. :)

I had to use Google to find out what TLDR meant, now i know, can't say i've ever seen it used though.

This place has it's fair share of ********. Particularly in recent times. I've been a member for years, but only recently have I actually stopped posting frequently, because of the sheer amount of bitchiness and aggressive/insulting posts. Before the last few months it's never been so bad that it made me want to turn my back on the place.

At the moment there seem to be way too many "Johnny come lately's" to GD who only post with the intent of 'getting one over' on other people.

Here's a tip... GD is not a competition.

I assume he wanted jang'thraze to go with the other part he got before to combine them into the one sword....a lot of hunter just want any weap and any mail loot....some people are just slow.

wow is full of idiots but there are decent and mature people but they are very few. Everyone has the "I'm so much better than you" attitude on the internet, they can become anything they want.

Internet is filled with whiners, trolls & cowards as they hide behide there screens
A few more murders should quite them down a bit when they realize that even on the internet you **** someone of enough & there are consequences.

No swearing

ATTENTION! INTERNETS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS! THIRD MOUNTED KEYBOARD BATALLION REPORT FOR DUTY!

I act the same online as I do in person: bolshy, overtly sarcastic, overtly aggressive in response to aggression, hyper-confident and with an overlying note of 'I'm always right'. That said, if we share an interest, I'll chew your ear off about it...And if you do something worthy of respect, I'll respect you for it.

I have no time nor tolerance for cod-alpha posturing as above. In twelve years online, I've never met someone in person who posts online like that who hasn't been a stuttering, spineless oik. Whenever I've called people face to face over their online threats they have immediately started backpedalling.
