Maybe she's only interested in cars as a mode of transport, rather than as an interest in itself? Stranger things have happened, and it could be worse. She could give a load to cat homes.
 
She probably has a friend with a "nice little Ka" and was considering buying one herself before the win. Now she will probably walk into the Ford dealership and come out with a Mustang instead ;)

That quote will have been prised out of her within 24 hours of the win itself, she probably doesn't know what shes thinking at all yet!

It will take somebody who has never had more than the average amount of money (bering in mind she is only 18 too) to get their head around the concept of 7 million. It takes a long time to start to understand that purchasing a 100,000k car wouldn't even spend half of 12 months worth of interest on 7 mill!

Good on her imo, someone who will go through university not landing themselves in 20k of government funded debt. Bet she makes lots of friends too....
 
Its her first car, and she wants to buy something she can bash about it and not worry about till she can get a decent car and not be worried about scrapes and bangs..

She is following the advice given to many a young driver. Just because she suddenly has a lot of money she does not necessarily want to spend it all!

Whilst I agree that for someone scraping together the cash for their first car, this is prudent advice, if I had a spare £7,000,000 in my accounts, I'd be perhaps looking to spend a tiny bit more than £5k.

Hell, if she is going to buy a NEW car, it might as well be a decent one.

I'm not talking stupid cars here either, but something a little more substantial, a little better built, a little more refined than the bean can with an engine from 1996.

Who said anything about "all" of it, just a few grand more than a brand new Ford Kack.
 
All it shows is that cars are not her obsession and she will buy what she likes the look of. fair shout to her tbh :]

Indeed. I wouldn't bother buying myself designer clothes, or lots of jewelry and that sort of thing because it just doesn't interest me.

If she wanted a Ka, so be it, not everyone is ostentatious when it comes to money or needing to flash it. Furthermore not everyone cares about what sort of car they drive! Or maybe she just likes Ford Kas?!
