i'd use Coretemp just to check your CPU temp is still okay before overclocking it.

It's a straightforward overclock aswell.

At stock voltage 3ghz shouldnt be a problem. Just change the fsb to 333mhz and you'll get 3ghz e6600 and the RAM will be at 500mhz. So youll want to reduce the timings of the RAM to 5-5-5-15.

If you want to clock higher, drop the fsb:dram ratio to 1:1. And then see how close you can get to 400*9 (3.6ghz). Upping the voltage where necessary.

I would recommend calling our technical support line on 0871 222 8528 and they will be happy to help you clock the system back to what it was sent out at.

it worries me more than you dont know what cpu was shipped with your grand's worth of pc when you bought it lol

What is more distressing is the fact a valued customer spends a grand or more and has to spend even more "pounds" on the telephone and @ 10p per min it surely will go into the pounds. There is always a huge queue.

Also to the OP, if your system is anything like mine then OcUK places a saved OverClock setting in the bios on the mobo.

So you thought you where buying the PC in the OP and you got the above??

Yea, crazy huh? No, I knew exactly what PC I bought. Just didn't know why my order page changed.

Thanks for the above replies.

Cool. Where in the bios do I change the setting to? I don't want to mess around with anything.

You should be able to run your RAM at higher speeds. Try 2.4 (1.2:1) setting and youll be running your RAM at 400mhz, and should be able to reduce the timings to 4-4-4-12.
