Pro Evo Demo on Thurs

Any chance we could avoid bogging down yet another thread with "PES 2008 was rubbish I'm buying FIFA this year :)" posts please?

Nah, I just really don't like it. It's hard to put in to words but it just feels so unnatural to play: too much thought and effort has seemingly been put in to the animation/making it look good when all I want is quick/responsive football. I played Pro Evo a few days after I tried the Fifa demo and it felt so much better and, more importantly, fun to play. Exciting, fast-paced football is what I'm after.

There's something in Fifa that doesn't sit right. Sure, it looks and sounds great but after a few games that became less important as the sluggish gameplay reared its ugly head.
 
Ill be downloading it, not bought or tried a pro evo since 2007 season, got the new fifa demo and didnt enjoy it.

If the pes demos good i may fork out for the game when its out.
 
PES demo's always have at least 5-10 minutes play in their releases so thats a good start. Unlike Fifa which since I can remember (probably a fifa road to world cup demo) has only had 2 minute games. Whats the point in that? I'm trying to determine if I want to buy your game or not. 2 minute games just annoy me. Demo expanders are my life saver!

I really hope this year they fix a bug on the PC with the PS2-to-usb controller setting. PES6 and before it was fine but for some reason when I tried to use my PS2 pad on PES2008, all my players would run in a certain direction and couldn't be adjusted. Anyway, my keyboard skills are amazing now!
 
A playable demo is set to become available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on 2nd October, 2008. Players will be able to select Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Italy and France. Each Exhibition multi player match will allow the user to play full five-minutes.

The demo will also include promotional videos detailing the new game's "Become a Legend" and online "Legends" modes, which see the player controlling just one player within a team and attempting to forge a career in football. Starting as a promising 17-year-old, players must force their way into the first team and produce a series of blistering performances which will ultimately result to a move to one of Europe’s biggest sides. I must admit reading that has got me slightly more interested. I've got FIFA09 on pre-order but it's still nice to see Liverpool as one of the licensed teams. Surprised to see they've got some sort of Champions League rights (along with Setanta branding?) but unfortunately no closer to proper team names/kits in the English leagues :(

Dosnt matter option file sort that with the editing now up to scratch so your get proper kits from community makers. And also from what i seen names are fine just kits that are wrong but WENB are working on option file so there be one on launch or not that far after.

Evo Web is your friend although not sure on 360 edit mode yet in regards to option file its easy to get option file on PS3 but 360 its tricky due to achievements linked. PS3 and PC way to go if you want decent option file as it stands at moment all in air on 360 from what i seen.

But this wont be able to be used online going from previous games only offline.

Edit: Not sure how involved i will be with PES 2009 yet demo is decider for me but i will make sure to post option file here when they are ready. (Saying that if im allowed think rules forbid them to be posted unfortunately)

Thoughts people? Wonder if they have made the changes they have promised. Will need to do a lot to beat Fifa 09.
 
Downloading this while I'm waiting for FIFA to turn up. It'll probably finish downloading when the postman knocks (if he knocks).
 
Dammmn, brother nicked my VGA cable for my 360, might get the component out, forgot about the old Fifa 09 vs PES 09 debate. Will download them both then decide, however I have always been a Fifa boy at heart!
