just downloaded it at work, if you use the top link it takes you too http://files.filefront.com/PURE+PC+Demorar/;11943913;/fileinfo.html where i was getting 600-700k will give it a play when i get home from work later

I downloaded it from there and Speach.fsb in the archieve is currupt.

Still plays with the corrupt speech file. But the big issue is with the loading times!! We are talking 2-3 mins I know its only a demo but this is taking the major P. With 4GB Ram + QX6850 + 4850 + 750GB Samsung F1 32Mb Cache on Vista.

Demo is also very buggy you cannot select the resolution at all and only way I could play it was to go to the task manager then swap back otherwise it just hung. Not a good sign when the readme suggests on Vista using XP SP2 compat mode!!

On the good news front it runs very smooth constant 60FPS and the gfx are pretty good (much better than the screenshots) also has native X360 controller support.

That said, what the hell is up with installers that want to run fullscreen and play fracking music too, so utterly annoying grrrrrrr.

Cool! I don't think I've ever downloaded anything this quick before. 1.9GB is a huge amount though. What resolution is it fixed at this demo?

Guessing around 800x600 and you cannot edit it either which is stupid as how are you supposed to gauge if your PC can handle it @ high res if the demo does not allow full access to various config settings. Game plays a lot like Motorstorm and is very arcadey but think I will wait until others buy it on 10th Oct before I take a chance.

Yeah 7zip bombed out on me due to two corrupted files but they are only foreign language files. If your unzipper bombs out you can just manually extract it all, apart from don't bother about the other languages under \080929_PURE_PC_Demo\setup\Localized\ just extract the English one in there. After that it installs fine.

As for the demo, I am in mixed minds about picking this up now. After reading all the reviews for the console versions last week and everywhere saying the PC version was out the same day I popped to the shops with an urge to splurge on an impulse buy, only to find that the PC one is delayed and I still don't know if it is out this week or next?

They say pirates are killing PC gaming but surely delaying the PC version, releasing a corrupted demo after the console demo's and even after the console release surely can't be helping matters?

Lack of config in the game sucks as well. My TV is telling me the signal is 1024x768 which is probably about right but I have a 4870x2 and a 1080p TV godamit! I also have no idea if it's meant to be in 16:9 or not as no matter which mode I put the TV in some elements just look odd.

Might still pick up the full version on release if I see it cheap but may give it a while until others have tried it, or might just not bother at all. Don't think I can even be arsed to pirate it.

Shame though as it looks like it could be a fun little blast.

i wasnt but i've swaped it over to that one now and it goin loads faster, its down to under an hour already!
getting 2.1mb on the us mirror!!
