Just wondering if theres any rugby lads bobbing about?

Currently playing for my 6th form college, but have played for Colchester as well :)

Or are you all just football pansys?

Used to play blind side flanker. Superb sport.

Too injury heavy for my liking tho, my knees and jaw are shot, and I'm sure its in rugby I picked up a labral tear :)

Ant

Use to play at high school lot of loads got trails for Orrell when they where good, my dad played for the 2nd team, the whole rugby banter was great but it died out around my era, dont think Orrell have a ground now. Could play league all week.

Just started playing again after a 10 year break when injury and career stopped play. Enjoying the ache on a sunday morning again. I do feel very small in the modern game though. I used to be able to get by as just a very quick hooker more like an extra flanker in my play to compensate for being a midget. Oh well, I guess maybe I will have to bulk up a tad

Defensive End :p

GET THE **** OUT!

Cool, im faster than your average prop!
Once our start 2nd year 8 leaves after this year im going to try and get in his position, ive always fancied number 8 :)

Woke up this morning and i couldnt dry my hair after the shower and a sprained ankle :)
Im yet to get a black eye this season which is quite dissapointing :p

I gave it up after a pretty bad dislocation of my shoulder, however I loved it and still do. Now I've built my strength back up I may well give it a go again. I fluctuated when I was younger between oupenside flanker to outside center. My list of injuries were a dislocated my shoulder, broke numerous fingers, as well as my nose a couple of times (fortunately got away with looking flat nosed! :D).

It's great, but I've done my stint now... tempted to start again playing for London French, but I'll probably miss this season as work is a nightmare for me at the moment :( Though I'm about 4 years out of practice and have increased in weight somewhat!

Played from the age of 6 to 19 at Prop, Hooker, Second Row and Number 8. Gave it up because of too many injuries which had made it difficult to get into a team at a high level. Pity, as I loved playing, but my shoulders and ankles were not up to it (still can't lift my right arm straight above my head to this day due to the repeated dislocations). My local club asks me to come back every year but I've done my share at the coalface. Shame, because it would be great to be involved in Welsh rugby now.

Used to be a prop, preferred loose but would happily go and cover tight if i was needed.
Rarely injured, which was odd :D

Gave it up as life took over all my time.

Played school, junior & senior club, college (Bath), trials for county (one of the only times I got injured!)

I played scrum-half all throughout my school career, never played any other position :)
Wasn't half bad at it either, was in the first team and also went quite far into our provincial trails.

In South Africa you play for your school ,then go on to go to trails for the Province (bit larger than county I believe)

I am still a player although I seem to have been injured more than I have played in the last 3 years, I Play Hooker but currently have a Herniated disk in my back (:( ) and I suspect that will mean the end of my playing for good. I am however embarking on the road to coaching (Partially funded by the RFU, my club and myself) and I have to say I'm very excited by the prospect.

I'll start a thread in a couple of weeks for the build up to, and the playing of the Autumn Internationals, would be nice to have someone else join the discussion (rather than just Freefaller playing for his girls Rugby team and his slightly effeminate French ways :p)

i played front row, from the age of 11 til 20, i played for school, college, town, couty and unitversity 1st team. gave up due to shift work, but took up a martial art which i now love!!! i was mainly a hooker for those 9 years but played openside prop for a while.

Bring it on beeaatch!! :p

Never really bothered with Rugby Union growing up, played it if there was no league to play, we even managed to win the U19 Schools 10 a-side union trophy, there was uproar that day when we turned up in our Rugby League shirts that didn't have collars on!! Haha.

Played league at School/college, then played at Woolston Rovers for a number of years and managed to win a few trophys, played u19's for Salford RLFC and came up against a guy called Andy Farrell (amongst others) who was rather good and made me take the decision that being a pro rugby league player wouldn't be much fun!! Then carried on playing amateur up until 2 years ago when after two shoulder operations, broken nose 9 times and a spinal injury (resulting in Spondylolithesis of two vertebrae) told me it was time to pull the curtain on the rugby career. Main positions over the years were centre and full back.

I played as a prop forward in my school years.

My best memory was of a 6th form versus staff game when we dislocated one of the teachers shoulders and he had to be hospitalised.

A bit harsh you may say, but let me give you some more context. This was during the early 1970s when coporal punishment, including the cane, was still allowed in schools.

The teacher in question was in charge of " discipline", but the guy loved dealing it out, and he was basically a sadist.

It was payback time :D

I played as a winger for Sunderland under 17 team and then the backup team, however, I never really commited myself fully so dropped out eventually. I really should've stuck with it back then, now want to get back into it but it's going to be a lot harder. I was a winger which I can't be now since I weight about 4 stone heavier.
