What Uni are you going to?

So how is everyone doing? My course seems pretty interesting, and i've met some cool people. However the first week was pretty messed up, had about 4 lectures cancled due to time table mistakes. Should be cleared up next week though.

Recovering from freshers week though, having a quiet weekend :p

Coming from an HND at College I like the fact that you get lectures and are basically left to get on with it yourself. It's your Degree, you either work hard or you don't. The lecturers are less involved than at College, which is nice.

In my industry a brilliant portfolio comes way before a Degree however I'm still rather regretful that I didn't get my act together, get into a decent institution and study a more design intense course. I'm not sure how a potential employer(from whatever industry) would perceive a Bsc in multimedia technology as opposed to a BA in graphic communication for example, which always plays on my mind.

The grass is always greener and all that

Going well thanks :)

Not many lectures, going to Thorpe Park on Wednesday.

Pff, lightweight! You found the No Where Inn yet?

Living right next to it :p There's some dodgy locals in there.. :o

Haha! I saw NYE in on that road! :D Only lived around by Cuba way last year.

What do you make of C10s? Never really liked that place myself; crap drink, couldn't move and bad music. Some people seem to love it though; each to their own I guess.

Try and find Minerva (oldest pub in Plym). I went in one night after a meal with my housemates (think it was a Friday) -- it's only tiny but they had a live folk night on which I absolutely loved. There's just something fantastic about sitting in a pub with that atmosphere. Definitely worth checking it out at least once as I don't think many students ever go there. Hint: It's down one of the roads behind Staples going towards the Hoe. ;)

Yeah, when you do eventually find Goodbodies too, don't take it too personal when you end up arguing with the staff, they're just grumpy bumholes! I don't think I've had a single visit to that place without some kind of encounter.

What course you doing by the way?

Ha thanks for the hints ;)

I'm doing Digital Art and Technology. What did you do?

I'm staying in halls, so it's pretty close to Cuba/Nowhere Inn/Fresher & Professor. :)

Ya, got a pretty accurate image of where you are in my head at the moment.

Interesting course. I visited the exhibit they did around Summer in Levinsky and although some of the stuff I saw was just well... rubbish; some stuff actually blew me away. One of my old housemates did Media and for one of his projects had an art puppet thingy singing and playing the guitar in stop-motion to one of his own songs. It worked really well.

Anyway, I did BSc Geography (Hons) myself.
