Best free firewall out there

I had comodo running and didnt know you could turn of defence+, was winding me up no end.
It looks like zonealarm has gone down the pan, I tried to install the latest version on xp pro sp2 and I was told to get some hotfix which I cant download. Way to go checkpoint

One of their updates some time ago stopped people from connecting to the internet. I remember when Zonealarm was the favourite free firewall.

So do I, way back when I was still using windows 98se. Zonealarm was king. I just installed the latest one but had to get some patch from microsoft and also found I had to lower the security just to get at the network shares, not good tbh.

Can some please confirm best settings for comodo ?
Ive right clicked and gone to Defence + Security and turned that off
Also ive right clicked and gone to Firewall setting and set to Training?
