Would my 3870 power a 26" monitor??

Im thinking about getting a Hazro 26", and Im guessing my games wouldnt look too great at 900x1440 or 1650x1080 with my 3870? I dont really fancy the 4870 cards cos of the power that needs to run them and the heat, so I was thinking about a 1gb 4850??? What you think guys, my system in the sig?

What games are you going to be playing? You should be able to game perfectly fine with most games on high settings

Crysis,warhead,grid, farcry2 ect. Basically all the top games.

Imo no, not at native res , i have used both a 8800gt and then a 8800GTX both struggles at native res on both grid and crysis.
Both of my cards are considered better than a 3870

How far down can you take the res of a 26" before it starts looking like poo?? The reason for a 26" is cos I think the text would be a tad small on a 24". Cos apparntly the text does look smaller on a 24" then on my 20.1". Maybe someone will confirm that for me?

text is fine on my 24" @1920x1200

Would it be true to say that on a higher resolution monitor, the text isn't smaller due to the extra pixels, but better defined? I'm looking to update my 19" LCD to something that will do my new 4870 justice...
