Hey,

I'm just in the process of formatting my computer.

Currently on XP 32-bit. Is it worth switching to XP 64-bit if I only have 2gb ram?

I understand from various threads that XP64 is great, but I dont know if that applies to me with only 2gb ram.

Also, its pretty hard searching this forum for "xp", "32" and "64" :(

Cheers guys

Edit: more info if it helps: Socket 754 (AGP) hence the low ram, x9150 gfx and amd 3000+. its an old PC, but I have no intention of upgrading for a good year or so..

In my opinion, no.

If you are looking at getting more RAM, and you have the hardware to run it, then Vista 64-Bit without question.

NEVERMIND GUYS. A GOOD FRIEND JUST SAID 'WHY FIX SOMETHING THAT AINT BROKE'! GUESS I'M STICKING WITH XP32 FOR ANOTHER YEAR :)

Thanks for the help xD

There's no reason what so ever still to this day to swap to vista if you already have xp.

no-body should run any 64bit os with less than 4gb ram

should be in the 'realistic minimum specs', not the 8mb or whatever it is MS suggest :p
