Help finding an e34 525i Sport

commited · 7 Oct 2008 at 15:32

I finally sold my 530d \o/

I now want an e34 525i Sport with leather. However I can't find one.

I've looked on ebay (couple of ropey ones), looked on autotrader (nothing), looked on all the BMW forums I can think of (nout) and pistonheads (nout).

Am I missing something? A few weeks ago when I wasn't ready to buy there were a couple of really good examples....

Anyone know of any for sale?

fox had a link to a nice one a week or two ago, didn't seem worth £2.5k to me though.

edit, my mistake £1500 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=190249018794&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=009 sold and not as nice as i remember

I've got one in exactly the spec you are after

Not for sale though

Sone, that's the one I missed out on

DRZ - did you fix it yet? Do you like it?

I'm toying with the idea of a few cars, but not sure what to get...
e30 318iS/325i (non sport)
e36 318iS/325i
e34 525i Sport
Peugeot 106GTI

E36 328i Sport?

You should get another E30, was it you that had the grey one with alpina wheels? loved the look of that car.

I think that was "rare", although I'm willing to be proven wrong.

I'd also say get an e36.

yeah you are right

I only had a black e30 318iS

I'm considering an e36 328i Sport, but they fetch a fair premium. I'm looking for something cheap tbh.

Did they do a 325i Sport?

commited · 7 Oct 2008 at 22:57

They did from what I know...

I'm trying to see if I can find something over here to save the hassle of the UK etc...

[TW]Fox · 7 Oct 2008 at 23:00

I'm pretty sure they didn't. First E36 Sport (As in genuine Sport) was the 1996 328i Sport.

Tasty alloys though.

Ok screw the 525i Sport, I want an e36 325i Coupe...
They all seem to be autos though

Do they have the same performance as a 328i roughly?

[TW]Fox · 9 Oct 2008 at 20:31

No, not really, they don't.

commited · 10 Oct 2008 at 19:44

Why? they have similar torque and BHP.

They are similar, the 328i has a smoother power delivery and more torque higher up the rev-range however, so it is a bit quicker.

didnt the 328i have some sort of head/ valve problems? it might be woth checking to look to see its been done, not sure but something similar to the vanos probs on the m3's

That would be the Nikasil issue.
