Im off on the 23rd Jan!

First stop is Tokyo just for 3 days as the costs of living are silly, meeting up with my supplier out there.

Then onto Cairns, Palm Cove, staying at a beach hotel with a Ocean Spirit Great Barrier Reef tour.

Next stop is Sydney I have friends here will be great to catch up.

Around Feb 10th Im off to Melbourne, my girlfriend has family there so she will be happy to see them!

End of Feb we leave Australia and head to Bangkok for 4 days!

We then leave Bangkok and head back to Heathrow.

I think at that point I'll be stopped at customs for either bringing back some Camera equipment, trying to bring Australia weather into the UK (Could be interesting) or arguing my point that the UK should adopt Bangkok's prices

Glad I'm able to do this now I'm young and not regret it in years to come :)

Sounds like a trip that will be remembered for the rest of your life.

I'm hoping to do something similar in 2010. I'm sort of planning it now.

Any plans on emigration in the future?

Nice i hope you have safe and pleasent time!

Please do be mindful in places like bangkok. Other than that enjoy yourself!

I am envious.

Thanks :) What do you mean about Bangkok? Be careful of the people there?

Deffo  Not sure about emigration, I'm only 19 in November so would be something to think about in the future. Although the UK is getting worse and worse, I think something inside me would make me really miss the place. Maybe because I live in a small town where most people know eachother, hardly any crime and some lovely scenerry. I suppose I must have a different view of the UK then someone who lives in a city.

It's not for everyone, but I don't think I could stay here any longer than I have to when I finish my degree. I think this trip will change your mind though. Just wait and see ;)

Ahh i didnt know your age! 19 eh? yes bangkok as i said above one of those places where u hear about tourists going missing and getting murdered etc... not trying to scare you thailand is a lovely place! just make sure you know your stuff.

Nice, you better take a fat book or something as that's a lot of hours on a plane!

Did a similar trip once, 12 hours flying to Singapore, 5 hour wait, then 10 hours from Singapore to Auckland, NZ.

Singapore Airlines were great to fly with though. Watch as many films as you can before you eventually pass out, then wake up, eat and get a hot towel, then repeat until you arrive.

Save buying your camera stuff till your last day there. Don't want it going walkabouts.

Just a few!

London - Tokyo = 11hrs 30mins
Tokyo - Cairns = 7hrs 40mins
Cairns - Sydney = 3hrs
Sydney - Melbourne = Making our own way there so roughly a year? :p
Melbourne - Bangkok = 9hrs 45mins
Bangkok - London = 12hrs 50mins

Yeh, bangkok is one of those more funny places..... just can be a lot of shady characters and dodgey stuff going on. Do your reading make sure you are mindful and stick to right areas.

Ah, will get reading then. Thanks! To be honest though I'm sure we will end up in the tourist areas. :)

Yeah. I can't say anything until I've been there really. I think I don't have that many ties here, but then I think harder and I realise I do have a lot!

I know what you mean though. You wonder down a street to see whats there and end up in a place you have no idea where you are. I did that in Fuerteventura. Although obviously not as big still took us an hour to find our bearings again.

Really want to visit the Bridge over the river Kwai.

OT sort of, Does anyone know the legalities of buying camera eqiupment in Japan. There shouldn't be a problem after that as It will be a personal good surely?

EDIT/ Total travel of 44 hours 45 mins :o

Yeh id love to visit there aswell! thats what i mean yeh taking a wrong turn ending up in shady area not good.

I take it they're cheap out there.

Problem is we are going to have to take winter and summer clothes anyway. Tokyo is around 8C and Bangkok 32C, Australia 28C

Envy setting in fast here!

Sounds like a good trip, Tokyo is awesome if not the cheapest place in the world!
