No they were not, they were terrible and really awkward. That's why they have dropped Seinfeld and stopped running the commercials after all of what 2 weeks or so :p
Still, the new 'i'm a pc' ones are much better- the list of stars in it are cool!

Further more, why on earth is seinfeld doing that?, he's worth the best part of a billion dollars lmao. Jebus.

Whoa, just checked that:

According to Forbes magazine, Jerry Seinfeld's annual earning from Seinfeld, in 1998, was $267 million, making him the highest-earning celebrity that year.[23] Seinfeld still generates more revenue than most current shows, through syndication. He reportedly turned down $5 million per episode, for 22 episodes, to continue the show beyond its final season.[24] He earned $100 million from syndication deals and stand-up appearances in 2005 and $60 million in 2006.[25][26] He also earned $10 million for appearing with Bill Gates in Microsoft's 2008 ads for Windows.[27]

Jesus. Had no idea he made that much.

Also:

Seinfeld is an avid automobile enthusiast and collector and is rumored to own one of the largest Porsche collections in the world... A current tally puts Seinfeld at 46 Porsches

Yah he's extremely well off. Larry david made even more (co-wrote seinfeld, and ofc went on to write/star in curb). His porches afaik are stored in an underground carpark (the car park is underneath an apartment in downtown Manhattan. Seinfeld had the basement and first floor converted into a car ramp/garage, in a prime real-estate area that must have cost a fortune). I shouldn't know this rly, it's quite sad. I also pretty much know every episode word for word haha.

No-one needs that much cash, but ho hum, the show is rather funny. Afaik he got a similar amount for his American Express commercials too.

they really are incredibly bad, its very weird. Gates isn't known for being an ultra hip person, but surely he's smart enough to see they just weren't funny, or one of the ridiculously expensive director, writer, producer, company that made it should have noticed it wasn't funny. Then Seinfeld you think might know what was funny but they all missed it completely. STill can't quite work out how those ad's made it to air.

Seinfeld was ridiculously good, seems strange it was worth quite as much as it was though, but it was one of the first comedies in the genre that I guess people were waiting for and seems to have global appeal. From what little i've seen of his more recent stand up and utterly crap films Larry David was the biggest genius behind Seinfeld, the mans an utter legend.

I am a mac. I am a woman.

Fixed. Tbf though, I'm a Linux box, which means I get laid as often as my computer crashes :(

Why the hell does Microsoft care about being "cool" so much all of a sudden? Let Macs be cool, MS just write a serious computing OS please.

Seinfeld the program was the best comedy show produced from America right up till the end of the 90's. His stand up shows though have never been that particularly funny, even as a massive fan of Seinfeld.

Theres still only been one or two shows that compete with it, Curb your Enthusiasm being one of the obvious candidates. These adverts are really unfunny though, plus i dont like seeing old jerry, it makes me a bit sad to see an old jerry.
