Anybody preordered Left 4 Dead yet?

I wouldn't charge £30 for TF2 by itself or CS:S by itself. Unless it has a 10 hour dynamic story-driven singleplayer as well as the MP, it aint worth that price.

Depends what you play it for. If you're in it for the single player then yeah, you're right. For some, multiplayer is where it's at and hence they could quite easily say the opposite.

I might pre-order it...I guess it depends on how I feel on payday :)

Im guessing your opposed to monthly subscriptions, or even mmo's in general as they dont have single player?

sure, steam needs a bit of polishing.. takes a while to open sometimes, and seems to mess up after sleep mode something

but it's great to have all your games in one place, and portable

they never said you'd be able to... what's the problem?

pre-load means you can play it as soon as it gets realeased, instead of having to wait for it to download

quite a simple concept :)
I think he was getting at the Op saying he might get it a day or too early, when in fact it wouldn't let him play it any sooner.

how the hell u can pre order as preorders not out yet it october 15th on steam.

u probably mean the dvd version no point more expensive. i rather get it cheaper and download it. then back it up if i need to

Valve games on steam are good value for money anyway. It's the other games that valve can't set the price for that are a bit steep.
I'll be pre ordering as soon as it is up on steam :D.

There is no way I'm paying £25-£30 so they can cash in on the popularity of the zombie server mod thing. The game itself also looks kind of poor considering they have been working on it since the last ice age.

Such a rebel. lol. This is valve, they make good games. I'll be getting this the second it comes out.

...

****.

We're talking about preORDERing not preloading. There is no benefit in preordering a steam game unless its for a reduced cost or has extra content.

You can just buy it off steam when your ready to play.

Will you just stop posting please. All you posts seem to be nonsensical misinformed tot or a dig at me and I rarely post here any more. It's pathetic. Grow up.

Any news on wether this will be a bundled release with some other cool stuff like nearly every other Valve game has been recently?

All the people saying it has no single player... you do realise that it has a full co-op able single player game that is different ever time you play?

AI and the Director

The AI of Left 4 Dead features a dynamic system for game dramatics, pacing, and difficulty called the "Director". Instead of set spawn points for enemies, the Director will spawn enemies in varying positions and numbers based upon each player's current situation, status and location, thus creating a new experience each time it is played. It will also balance action and moments of tense calm. The players' progress, skill and status is used to create balanced and rewarding resistance for players of various skills.

Why preorder? You're going to be forced to register it on Steam anyway. Valve is going to preload the game over the platform before it releases so you will literally get it the second it's out. Once you get the CD, you can't use it again, as it's registered and downloadable as of then.
Preordered mine already, apparently the place i ordered it from i should get it a day or so before release too hopefully .

You wouldn't be able to play the game early if you tried to, Steam won't recognize the game nor turn the master servers on until actual release. This happened with HL2 and CSS's original release as well as the Orange Box.

Preordering from the shop has zero advantage and all the disadvantages.

I love how people are saying "it's just a mod" and "it's repetitive"....yet Counterstrike is basically both of these and my most played game of all time!

It's not story line based though. I thought that other players could also play the tougher zombies? I take it you can decide if you want player controlled zombies or not.
