**Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway**

Anything in the .ini file?

Mixed reviews! I was looking forward to this. Luckily, it's been out of stock everywhere I've tried. I might sit this one out for a bit.

Just got home and found it waiting for me. Gonna install and give opinion later. Lookng forward to this.

installed it...

its rubbish

uninstalled it
Did you like the other games?

I enjoyed the other games but from what I have heard will not be buying this game.

Too short
Graphics are not great and just to damn bright for a WW2 shooter
They have not advanced the gameplay enough since the last game.

Find it a bit boring, standard controls are rubbish unless they're the same as in the previous games as I haven't played those... But compared to your avg. fps you need to fix em :p.

Seems to run maxed at 1280x1024 with my specs...

Need to force aa as without it looks just so terrible, however with aa I'm sure it looks okay, the textures are quite pretty...

It suffers from poor controls, too many boring cinematics you can't skip and just lacking AA... Haven't played it '''properly'' yet but not that impressed with the hour I have played it.

I find its a good game, im maxing out the settings at 1680x1050 and its running great on my rig. I find the graphics are really good although i dont normally bother about AA, theres that much action i dont look too closer at jaggies.

There are too many cinametics which you cant skip but im liking the game so far. Each to their own but this is going to keep me entertained for a good few hours :)

Just started playing it. I like how every fire fight is strategic and not just run and gun. The cover system works quite well for flanking and what not. AI is great but its not bad either. Controls are terrible on the pc, not enough options to change them.

The game feels very unfinished though, when in cover and giving commands, your guy speaks but his mouth doesn't move. Pretty pathetic by todays standards.

Lol the ai is retarded , GO HERE as i point to an area behind a wall , so instead of covering themselves they run out in the open and get shot :p.

Also your entire unit can get killed and be completely ok for the next mission , so i tend to do it solo. There is no sense of concern for your buddies !

Yea, the AI can be right idiots at times. Instead of staying behind cover, they go over the wall and into open then back over the same wall to get into cover. It just pulls you straight out of the game.

Poor poor poor. AI can be so much better in 2008. Did they even update the AI at all?

Okay - just played the opening level and the first proper level and can say that this is ace - just as I expected it to be. Feels just like the first two games so far which is great. the controls are fine - don't know why they have been given a bad rap on some posts here: You look with the mouse - feels fine, you shoot, get in cover, throw grenade - all feels fine and have been able to remap to all mouse buttons, which a lot of FPS forget (nothing more frustrating when you have 2 extra buttons on mouse which the game refuses to recognise). Graphics are great IMO, but maybe I am more easily impressed. If you think that they are not as nice as they coud be then you can't argue that they are certainly functional for the game.

The shooting is now more accurate - I was getting headshoots from about 30/40 metres (improvement on the first two) whether this will make the game easier I don't know.

If you liked the first two then get this. Even if you didn't play the first two but want something different in a shooter or like what you have heard of game mechanics then get it - I feel that you will likely not be disappointed.

A quick sceenie:

I really want to like this game, but the direction in terms of the story is just plain awful. It feels so forced, so lifeless. It's not like say, Call of Duty 4, where the cinematics and story are genuinely gripping and electric. I'm not very far but so far the game hasn't even attempted to suck me in. The choreography feels wrong too, there is no transition or cohesion between events.

The visuals are pretty poor too, it looks good in some places but absolutely terrible in others. The visual style feels all wrong too. It feels like it's trying to be this dark, gripping tale but I find it hard to believe when the graphics are so cheery and vibrant. Doesn't feel like I'm in a war at all. I'm not saying I'm for the Gears of War style where everything is basically the same shade of gray, but jeez, they could have at least tried to make it a little darker.

Anyway those are my thoughts on the game. I'm going to play it some more because I feel it at least deserves a chance to pick up the shattered pieces of my first impression.

I don't understand the complaints about the visuals, you're in holland which was largely untouched untill the para landing happened. Thats probably why things look as if they havn't had a tank driven through them yet. From what ive seen in some reviews the game does seem to get more gritty looking later on.

Exactly my thoughts. Also, i hate how the ground is so flat, its just weird.

Holland is flat :)

Yea idd.

Holland is like, superbly flat. Have you ever been mountain hunting? ITS IMPOSSBILE

I need to re visit Holland :(

*Small Spoiler*

There's a map where you have to search through an old Hospital in search of *someone* , Reminds me a lot of Bioshock that bit :p

I'm enjoying as well..the graphics are more than adequate and the overall atmosphere is good..ambient battle sounds, weapons sound like they should etc.

it is like I said previously..you either like the mindset that this game puts on you..its not run and gun..though they have made the guns more accurate when you use the iron sights in a particular..cover system works well

and the controls? well you can map the keys same as you can in any other game..or you can use a 360 pad...but its entirely up to you.
