Its a Vodafone exclusive in the UK apprantly......

Is there a rummoured release date for it any chance, before christmas or in the new year and I wonder what sort of price.

I could do with a blackberry badly and if its release date isn't far away, I'll wait.

Its stunning looking btw.

From what i have heard, dunno if its true or not...it might possibly be out just in time for xmas but dont hold me to that...spoke to a blackberry rep the other day and he reckons it will be out end of yr.

Looks like its due out end of oct....vodaphone have exclusive rights by the looks of it.

Does anyone know of a site that shows exactly what Blackberry does in comparison to WM6.1 and Symbian. I'm in the market for a new phone. Had XDA, XDAII, XDAIIs and now want a device that is more useful as a phone. Those XDA have a very basic phone software/contacts management and bluetooth is terrible, that is with both shipped ROMs and home brewed ones. Interested in one of HTC Diamond, Samsung Innov8, Sony Xperia and this deivce. Camera capability is nice but not essential.

Some people will say different but I firmly reckon the blackberry is the best smartphone around by a long way. The downside is you need to use it with exchange and BES to get the best from it (over the air sync of everything). And I can't comment on media playback and such, because I don't use my phone for that...

it looks a really good device, and from the first impressions i've read the typing is very impressive and easy to use. Nice to see the Iphone getting some competition albeit indirectly imo.

When i've used blackberrys i've been thoroughly impressed with the email/calendar implementation, but I've never been keen on that ball thing for scrolling, and the media functions can't touch an iphone, but then its a completely different beast, so its a bit much to expect.

I've got a 3G and even I'm considering this thing. 3G is just too flaky for me and I've lost so many emails because of dropped connections. Apple right now are just hurting the 3G by stunting app development and as a smartphone imo the 3G is just poor. The storm tbh has just what I need.

I'm just not sure if I can get off my current 3G contract so early down the road lol

Actually it seems some idiot at RIM decided it didn't need wifi, what on earth was the logic behind that?

Very disappointing, I'll probably still try it out and see how it feels but the lack of wifi is something of a deal breaker...

Indeed it could be a deal breaker for me which is a shame:(...mind u i dont use wifi all that much so i guess i could live without it...got 3g with tmobile and its super fast...well for me it is.

One thing ive been reading about is the touchscreen...its completely different to the iphone ie you actually push the screen down....which gives you a positive feedback...seems pretty cool compared to the iphone touchscreen and the HTC Diamond touch screen. Dont know if it will be any good though.

My only other gripe is that Vodaphone seem to have it as an exclusive on their network...so dont know if tmobile will carry it but then my contract isnt up for renewal till next jan so ill wait and see. If not then ill settle for the new Blackberry bold which i had a play with a few weeks ago and it looked pretty awesome.

Its not ideal, but having had a vodafone phone with wifi and hsdpa I can't honestly see the need for wifi. hsdpa was always fast enough for me and has the advatange of being always on. I think over the last 12months I used wifi on a couple of occasions.
