OK! I've decided... It's dull and boring  It's like a slow Scooby Doo episode!

And the editing/action in last Saturday's episode was comical!

I'll give it one more week and then remove it from the SKy+ auto record..

Here's hoping the next big series from BBC, 'Survivors', isn't as poorly written/done!

And the BBC would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you pesky kids!!!

*shakes fist in air*

You don't like the scripted TV go back to your reality show carp!

No, I far prefer scripted TV... But Merlin isn't exactly very well scripted is it... It's slow, predictable and generally dulllll.... In scripting terms, 'lazy'...

On Saturday I'm sure at one point he said 'no way!'... For goodness sake! At least try and keep the illusion this is over a 1000 years ago!

It's like you're expecting a good drama from the BBC that isn't a classical series.

Sadly, the only good drama/thriller series at the moment come from America due to the $$$.

We can do it, just seems the main features are played so safe, they're too safe!

God please don't let 'Survivors' be dumbed down

It did seem good at first, but each week it's almost the same storyline as the previous, really is predictable and there's not enough characters IMO.
The old guy (Meldrew's character) says the same stuff to merlin each episode. "don't do magic" "don't get caught"
The dragon says the same dialogue too, it's like they literally just use the same tape.

I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt for the moment but tbh I suspected (and Im being proven correct) that this is a Robin Hood Clone.

Just a no thought required, baddie of the week show using a "Historical Mythical figure" as the protagonist.

I'm a bit narked that they have not even really bothered to keep T.H. White's Depictions of the characters. It seems like They have taken the names of a few characters and incorporated them into their own little story. No Doubt we will see a dashing, confident, outgoing Lancelot later in the series.

Typical BBC! Let's take a highly regarded piece of 'English' folklore and spoil it by turning it into weakly scripted piece of drivel that will appeal to the people with an attention span of seconds.

Well tbh im not impressed really, merlin always visits the dragon and the dragon says the same stuff and flaps off.

My son likes it but then hes 8 so anything like this is ok to him. Its just not gritty enougth for me, bit like dr who where it doesnt matter what the problem is or the foe or whatever. They always defeat it and everything is perfect at the end. And is it just me or was the bloke who played gene hunt in ashes to ashes supposed to have played either the king or merlin? I dunno where I read it tho so I might be wrong.

Another bbc production that had promise was robin hood, but series two seemed a bit too childish.

It's TV for children. The sort of thing I imagine parents watch with their kids.

You're right though, it's rubbish.
