Recommend some good games of 2-4 years ago

A friend of mine is off work for a few weeks with a broken leg. He has an oldish PC so is looking for a few older games that he can pick up from eBay to relieve his boredom.

What would you recommend? Any genre is fine, just good entertaining games.

Mafia,great game and cheep.Bit older than 4 years old though but well worth a look

Yep, Dawn of War! Runs on coal fired PC's quite happily.

Yes, he has played WoW in the past, but is a bit bored of it now.

homeworld series

I would second the Homeworld series, Fallout series and Dawn of war series without doubt.

Homeworld has a great story behind it and is a joy to play, Fallout is an almost flawless game (Fallout 1 is a tad short). I'd even recommend trying Fallout Tactics too And Dawn of War is legendary and i'd recommend picking up all the expansions for it too, playing Imperial Guard is such a joy

Another game i'd recommend is Lionheart - Legacy of the Crusader, one of the last games to come from Interplay & Black Isle Studios, Its a great RPG set in an alternative 12th Century Europe.

Fahrenheit, and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.

Two very good 3D adventure games imo.

Bit older but Baldurs Gate + 2 if he likes RPGs, Freespace 2 for a nice space sim

And to be fair, when I had an XP2500oc'd and a 9600XT, Spellforce2 brought my system to it's knees once I had an army of elfin archers. Might not work so well on integrated graphics

Another one that I forgot in my first post is Planescape Tourment, again from Interplay & Black Isle Studios. It uses the Baldurs Gate Engine but the story is more Adult than most other games. This game got over looked by most gamers but deserves to be in any RPG fans collection and possibly in the top 10 RPG's of all time. Great Stuff.
