A question about dual monitors on Vista

Hopefully someone can help here, I've just inherited an old 17" LCD so have decided to go dual screen.

Everything is working great, but is there anyway I don't have to have the icons visible on my main screen for the apps that are displayed on the other screen?

For example, I have MSN messenger and one IE session displaying on the left hand monitor (my second monitor) but ideally I don't want them icons in the task bar on my primary monitor.

Anyway to get rid of them?

Cheers for the prompt reply but I'd ideally like to be able to do it without installing any third party apps. I'll look into it though

you can't do it with vista without installing something extra, like ultramon.

Ok thanks for the response guys, just looked into Ultramon and it looks pretty damn good.

I'm guessing the footprint in terms of memory usage is minimal?

Ultramon is a fantastic piece of software, couldn't really live without to be honest. the smart taskbar is the best tool in it
