Hi guys!

Right the plan was , we and me mate were going to go Amsterdam or something like that for a week - but cant because we havnt got the cash or time now. So we are looking at going holiday somewhere in the UK.

We will be going next monday/ tuesday till friday.

Now which would you recommend? I know its not holiday season anymore, but one of them has got to be good :)

Also, please recommend another place like Scotland for example if need be.

BTW, were both 18 and are going to be wanting to go clubbing/pub/brothel (:p) etc.

Cheers

Even people I know who live in Blackpool acknowledge it's crap!

Mind you, I personally wouldn't holiday in London either, it's a hateful place.

You can get return flights to Amsterdam for £50, driving or public transport to somewhere in the UK won't be much less. Hotels in Amsterdam are reasonable and the brasses are cheap, eating and drinking is a bit more than you would pay in the UK.

Blackpool is rubbish, don't ever go there if you can avoid it. I live down the road from it. It smells and a lot of the people there are unpleasant in some way.

Blackpool is a festering **** hole

I have been many many times on nights out but I would'nt want to spend more than a day or two there and certainly not sober

besides that it is more or less the end of the tourist season in Blackpool so a lot of places will be closed afaik

Cool - wont be going on a Sat though :(

But - would anyone be able to drum up a quick booking for Amsterdam with hotel? I wouldnt know where to start - if someone can give me a template - ill go from there. And I have looked at lastminute.com and stuff like that.

Would be flying Monday - coming back Thurs :)

If you could do this I would be very grateful! :D

I live in blackpool, and can agree, it is an awful place. Any of the big cities would be far better in terms of clubs etc, places like London, Edinburgh, Manchester.

Its just cheap and tacky and nasty. Even the football stadium isnt finished!
Very old and run down and tired looking and not somewhere id pick to go on holiday.

Yep. After living around the merseyside area and blackpool i know its really not a nice place. Oh and the strong winds really get on yer nerves in about 5 minutes.

Can also heartily recommend Glasgow if it's a UK city break you're after.

However, Amsterdam should still be on the cards if you can afford a break in the UK IMHO. Try flying to Rotterdam with VLM, they've proven pretty cheap in the past, and public transport in The Netherlands is top notch. You should also be able to score hostel accomodation over there quite cheaply as well.

Was going to say Blackpool is a **** hole. But tbh I think i'd rather be drunk in Blackpool than London. London is OK but imo its not a place to go to get rat arsed. I'd still look at Amsterdam, flights are cheap and its better than anywhere here.
