London or Blackpool for a 4 day holiday?

Hmm, I've lived in London for 45 years and I can confirm that it is a filthy, scum-ridden hell-hole.

I think visitors here see it from a different perspective, though.

Surely it should be London or Manchester,

In which case I could only say Manchester, i've never been out in London at night, but manchester is usually BUZZIN

Cool - wont be going on a Sat though :(

But - would anyone be able to drum up a quick booking for Amsterdam with hotel? I wouldnt know where to start - if someone can give me a template - ill go from there. And I have looked at lastminute.com and stuff like that.

Would be flying Monday - coming back Thurs :)

If you could do this I would be very grateful! :D

Amsterdam, book your flights with the airline direct and just go, there a direct shutttle train from the airport to central station and theres loads of hotels catering for all prices so you can just litterally turn up and find one on the spot.

Alternatively find a hotel on the net and call them direct to book, I always stay here: http://www.winston.nl/
as its a cool hotel and right in the middle of the right place if you know what I mean, just 4 mins walk from the rail-station.

So many better places you could go! If going North, hit Leeds, Liverpool or Newcastle (haven't been out in Manchester..), if South, London is awesome (but will cost you), may as well keep going down to Bournemouth, Brighton, Newquay etc.

Or just get on Ryanair and get a cheap-ass flight to anywhere, the novelty will more than make up for whether it's 'better' than anywhere in England :p

I live in Blackpool. I would recommend it here since....well I live here so it must be good.

In all seriousness the pleasure beach is quite nice, but I think you have to pay an entrance fee now which is pretty ridiculous.

Yeah Blackpool isn't that bad really. The sea is brown but they have rides, horror houses (haha so funny) and those 2p machines, which I think is just fine.

Manchester doesn't have 2p machines ;)

I hate blackpool and so does the missus. She was born and raised there and admits the place is a dump!

To be honest though, i dont much like london either. All far to busy for my liking

Blackpool= chavtastic. Go to London... Yep it's a bit pricier but if you don't mind staying in a cheap hotel or hostel there are tonnes of free things to do.. Science museum, history museum, walking around sight seeing are free. Parks, architecture, great pubs bars and clubs.. Honestly unless you want to get whistled at and felt up by 14 year old neds against a backdrop reminiscent of butlins on a bad day... Avoid Blackpool.
