Let boards - Ban them!

Right, walking home this evening along a main road of some sort, there must have been about twenty million "let" boards up. God they are ugly as a fat chick rubbing her face in a greasy kabab.

Can we please start something up to ban these waste of space things! They serve no purpose except being free advertising for the letting agent that sticks them up and then cant be bothered to remove them. The are a waste of wood and plastic, and they are unsightly. They prove no purpose to the letting community as usually when you enquire about the property (that happens to be next to a main road as these are the ones that tend to have about twenty million outside them) they are no longer for rent have actually already been let! WTF!!! :mad:

Ban these bloody boards from hell please! They turn any road into an ugly sin from hell!
 
Yeah it worked and I have only ever rented once and it was because i called the agency from the local newspaper, not from the board, so it didnt work.

When i bought my house, I made a point of phoning the agency daily asking them to remove the board that I had taken down and hidden from sight. They are an eye sore.
 
As ugly as they are, they give prospective landlord and home sellers a good idea of which agents are more active in certain areas.
They do serve a purpose.
 
If a "Let" sign was left up for any longer than a week or so after I moved into a rented house, I'd be kicking up a fuss with the landlord - though I do think the OP seems to get a bit to riled up about them. Chill pill, dude!
 
You know there are just times when you should look at your life and think, "Do i honestly have nothing better to do"...
 
All the "To Let" signs around here have to be flat, ie parallel to the building line and that tidies things up a bit.
As for "let" signs, never see 'em.
