BBC's new Merlin series...

I didnt even give it a chance, it looked like a steaming pile from the trailers so didnt even bother with it, i know trailers are not always the best way to judge, but you could see they didnt even have the fundamentals right IE: acting ability, script, stupid **** poor CGI dragon... etc etc.

After reading the Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwell this just lacks substance (imo).

If they televised the Warlord Chronicles like they did with Sharpe I would be over the moon :D.

I am also giving it the benefit of the doubt, but i am in the horrible position of having a wife that absolutely loves this show.

I find the acting to be pretty average to bad and the storylines about the same, but the very worst thing is having to sit through the whole episode until the last 5 minutes to see some magic which doesnt just involve moving something from one place to another.

Heroes on the other hand....now thats a show worth watching.

Blimey... I must be the only one who thinks that this is good :D.

I love it :D

I actually bum the program! Its ace!

Full on addicted, watched it every week so far, roll on sat! Sit with ma Mumtaz and watch it and then go out for my bday :D

It's only 6 episdoes of the new 'Survivors' I believe. If it's anything like the original it will be amazing. There are of course 38 episdoes of the original 3 series.

It's just about watchable.

I have the same issues with it as others have mentioned, but i still watch anyway.

The acting is lacking, the script is well, not very versitile, and the lines, well they're hardly amazing by any standards, you might aswell have chavs reading the lines if you can't at least make an effort to use dialect that matches the era. It really wouldn't surprise me if a chracter said " init " at some point.

It's incredibly poor, and not even vaguely faithful to the original legend. I rate it on the same level as their "Chavin' Hood" series with that short-haired ******** who looked like he'd just walked into the studio from a bus shelter with his mates.

They've screwed around with the characters and plot so much that it doesn't even make sense. Merlin as a kid and Arthur as the older kid who beats him up?

What a joke.

That's well true, innit?

I watch this with son no.2 and we like it, but then we only watch for the dragon.

I stopped thinking it was good, though, when I realised that all the 'chain mail' was knitted. I'm not joking - look closely and you can see that it's just shiny wool.

As Merlin would say - "no way!"
