It happens !!

A few years ago, the gaffa bought a brand new scooby. He had had it a couple of weeks, when, whilst driving home, I saw it outside a post office not far from work. Both the gaffer and his missus were still in the office when I left. I thought WTF?

The reg was pretty unique, so I knew it was the gaffers. I immediately pulled in front, blocking the scooby in and phoned him. Turns out that his missus had gone to the post office in the car, then walked home, oblivious

Still makes us chuckle to this day. We have never let her forget it. :)

I'd laugh more...

... but I've pretty much done that

Drove to the local shops. Walked home. Realised my car was gone. Phoned 999. Got the operator "fire, ambulance or police?" and went "um.... my mistake"... and felt like a right tool.

Then what did she do, teleport to the office?

Or they lift share, toke the bus, got the train :)

What a goon, I could imagine doing this if I was drinking and left the car somewhere but that is just plain stupid. :D

Right.......

I call BS.

This is an episode of the Royal Family, where Dave does exactly the same thing with his van. It was on the other day too on Gold.

I mean seriously, if you forget you used the car that day, walked back from wherever and reported it the police, I'd be more concerned about my serious short term memory loss. If the memory loss was THAT bad, you shouldn't be driving, but should be seeking medical advise!

Then again, I suppose attention seeking just doesn't happen on the internetz!

It is quite easy to do if you are running on autopilot. I did it once although I didn't get as far as calling the cops. As I walked up to my front door I realised and cursed, having walked about 2 miles home.

I once had to go into the Car Tax place in Chester for some disc mess-up, parked in the old roodee car-park, waited hours at the Tax office, came back, could not find my car..searched the car-park for ages, went to the little kiosk and told the attendants, they told me to keep looking, nothing, car was gone, go back to the kiosk, they phone the plod, 20mins later plod turns up, did you lock it etc? Yeah says I, got the keys right here..went in my pocket and pulled out...my Mum's car keys DOH! I'd gone in her car and completely forgot :o found it in 5mins and sheepishly drove home.
