I know someone on here bought a new air rifle recently but i cant remember who it was.

Well anyway me and a few pals were thinking about getting some rifles and going out for a bit of hunt :D

Can anyone whos into there rifles recommend some good shooters, obviously not some £600+ mothers !

But around the £100-£250 range ??

You will need permission to shoot on land - this is really important before you even consider getting an air rifle.

Personally I've always favoured underlevel springers, but I shot field target so what I'm familair with isn't necessarily whats good for hunting.

Hunting with air rifles, what are you going to kill, tin cans?

:p

In my experience they've been quite weak and probably not powerful enough to kill something you'd want to eat...although I have taken down a pesky squirrel before. :D

Rabbits and pigeons are pretty easy prey for a competent shot!

I was never interested in killing animals, because I wouldn't have eaten what I'd killed. Field target is a good discipline without visiting death! :p

I grew up in the middle of nowhere, squirrels used to strip the bark from trees and the trees would die, so they were vermin, just the same as a rat...only much more loveably. :p

Haven't used a rifle in many years though.

Little? I'm older'n'you boy...

Checks D.O.B.... **runs**

This is what I got the other day second hand :D (its three months old, and is as new)

I got the above (without the divers bottle) for £520, if you can stretch your budget then its definately worth it, if you just want to mess about then get a springer.

I'm in love with my Weihrauch HW100.. its so ******* good :D

and yeah we've got private land to use them on. a mate owns quite a bit of wooded area and fields.

Jolly good, enjoy! :D

I think you'll be better off with a springer to start with - precharged guns are great, but they obviously cost a lot more and have a higher annual upkeep too.
