MONDEO ESTATE + PARKING SENSORS ***.

what do you need parking sensors for, estate cars are very easy to park i can get the company 407s in space far smaller than any other car

Bought a crackin 53 plate Civic 1.6 in the end, 27,000 miles on the clock, old people are the greatest first owners a car could ever have.

Job done.

Nope, gearbox was snickety snick and the clutch was strong.

But I know where you're coming from - most of them can't drive for toffee.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but is a Rover 75 SE Tourer a possibility? You'll get a low mileage (20k) 3/4 year old model with full leather, electric seats, heated seats, parking sensors, sat nav, estate boot etc for under £5k. The BMW 2.0 turbo diesel engine is bullet proof.

[edit] finished reading the thread :) Civic is nice, good choice.

Told you the Civic :p

That sport you found was very tempting but she just didn't need that sort of poke.

I picked the 1.6 up from a VW dealer of all people - they took it in part ex yesterday morning, 24 hours later I've seen it and bought it. Easiest sale ever.
