**Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway**

It is a great game. One of the things I really love about it is the fact that you can set up your men to put suppressing fire on enemy positions so they keep their heads down. You then you can take your time having a look around and figure out what to do confident in the knowledge that your squad mates will more than not likely kill the Germans in the meantime. It makes it sweet when you figure out what you are doing and then put it into action and have have some enemies to shoot at. However the system also allows for quick on the spot decisions. Works really well.

Plus love the new rocket team!

Some negative comments:

1) Have not got massively far into the game as of yet, but feel that so far (compared especially to the first game) that the levels are more constrained. I remember with the first the rather more open levels: A town where you had free run in and the with which you could flank, get flanked back etc etc, and generally run in circles. The open fields where you have to clear those posts. can anyone tell me if the levels become more open later in the game?
2) They seemed to have removed the assault function/ability which was present in the first. Where you selected the assault team, cursored over the enemy and then hit the fire button , instead of releasing the button. This caused you assault team to rush the enemy position chucking grenades in first. This worked great and wish it was in this game - I used it loads towards the end and indeed found it essential. As far as I can see if you click fire it just cancels the order. I have checked the button settings and checked the manual but no sign of it. Anyone? I suppose the rocket team make up for it a bit - but will I always have that team. Not a major hassle but would have liked to see this ability.

Anyway - still a great game though.

edit: On the people having a go at this game - this is on the forum that saw quite extensive slagging of Half Life 2, Bioshock and Crysis upon their release. All excellent games, with flaws, but excellent as well. Not everyone here is like that but it does seem to be that there are quite a few very outspoken individuals. Not everyones fault though - these games to tend to get hyped beyond all expectations, but stilll.......

Lets see what happens when FarCry2 is released aye ;)

the assault function is still sort of there..if your squad is close enough to the enemy the cursor changes to a grenade and they will grenade then rush them..its not a seperate button press though..its the same as if you wanted them to suppress..but its determined by proximity of the target

Oh right, okay then. Cool. What was wrong with old way? Will give it a go.

Its Far deeper than your average FPS, I love the cut scenes really adds more to the game.
The gfx are good with good fps. some times the AI can be a bit silly overwise its a reay good game and worth gettin. Oh and i reeeaaalllllly love the blood and guts lol and the slowmo deaths are cool.

(heres a silly pic of my team mates trying to take cover this is what i mean by silly AI)

Love the pic:)

I like it, I find it hard to put it down
Oh yeah, me too. I've been taking turns with a mate on it and there's something about it that keeps you playing.

Later in the game there's some amazing levels. Puts the first half to shame. Here's some screenshots:

That's interesting. I'm playing it on the 360 and that night-time cut scene looked ridiculously blue. Must be some odd colour setting on the TV or something.

Just finished the PS3 version today,

Really good game and fantastic cut scene ending

My only gripe with the game is the hit boxes were miles out sometimes, I would like to know if the PC version was the same

:)

Oh come on. It's a good game, and I am enjoying it, but don't try to pretend it hasn't got a load of little bugs and oddities to it.

I'm not..........like I alluded to it's got no more little issues than any other fps of recent times, still looks great, no performance probs, it plays out of the box without having to spend a weekend tweaking for a starters ;)

The only thing that i dont like about it, is the multiplayer graphics have a clear graphical hit. Its like they didnt bother lighting the levels properly, there all just 1 dull shade, unlike single player where the lighting is fantastic.

This game is quite fun. I dont like the squads (stopped playing the other brothers in arms game as it annoyed me), but at the moment on the easy difficulty I dont need my squad and can rush and kill the enemies :D Although I have used the rocket squad a few times.

I just thought I would show a pic of my task manager that I alt-tabbed to take a screen shot of!

I have this open on my second monitor, even crysis warhead doesn't go past 3.4GB!

question, will it run well (i want to run it on high graphics) on my pc. im not really sure. what do you guys think?

EDIT: specs in sig.

anybody else get some grpahics glitches in the level with all the rain?

I'm using a 4870 with cat 8.9's and any surfaces like the lorries or the tops of walls went transparent instead of showing the rain on them

hehe it didnt stop me playing through..it wasnt that big a level..but I want to play it through again on authentic so am hoping they can patch it..its just a shame as it looked really good!!

defo worth getting. Not too demanding either playing it maxed out at 1680x 1050 on a 8800GTX, silky smooth.
