Hey Guys,

I plan on buying the G25 steering wheel, overclockers has a good price I see.

I need to know some information on this steering wheel

I saw some video review and they compared it to the Fanatec Porsche 911 steering wheel.

The G25 was said to have 2 force feedback motors but no vibration in the wheel. So when driving in the game on different surfaces you would get no force feedback except only from the wheel. Is this only when using it on consoles? But on a PC it has feedback or not?

I like the G25 gear stick as it's got both sequential and H-stick.

The review said the gear stick is a bit like a toy and has no resistance when clicking each gear. Also it's pedals are a bit toy like as there is not much resistance.

The video review was based in America and made by a user on youtube who owns both the G25 and the Porsche wheels.

I do like the Porsche more but it has a sequential gear box which I don't like when compared to the H-stick on the G25. Also the pedals and gear stick on the Porsche have much more resistance, a nice bonus is the Porsche wheel has wireless pedals. So that's one less cable to clutter up the game space. Also the Porsche wheel has a little bigger sized wheel nearly the same size of an actual real Porsche car model steering wheels.

The review said that the Porsche wheel has only 1 force feedback motor but it is much stronger than both force feedback motors in the G25.

Could anyone who has either wheel please give me an honest review, I don't mind paying the extra for the Porsche wheel.

Can you please answer all my questions

Many thanks in advance

can anyone give me an answer please

Yes i can answer.
I have tried both wheels and in my opinion the g25 is the better wheel.
You get true FFB with the g25.
When you use it with F1 on the ps3 you get engine vibration through the wheel when you are revving up on the start grid
It responds to bumps and kerbs etc just like the real thing.
The pedal assembly is far better on the g25.
The pedals have a different resistance for the throttle, brake and clutch as you have in a real car.
I have had lots of wheels and the g25 although not cheap it is by far the best.
Logitech also give you a two year warranty.
The wheel is great with the ps3 and the pc.
I got mine from overclockers.
The minute you open the box you will be amazed at the quality.
Stainless steel wheel and pedals with the wheel and gearchange knob trimmed in leather.
If you do a search on the forum and look for threads about the g25 you will not find anyone who has been dispointed with buying the product.

Many thanks for the reply

So when you use the G25 in a racing game on the PS3 or PC you actually do feel bumps, going on kerbs. But I saw in the video review that they said when you are driving on the actual roads in the game you don't feel a thing, they said it doesn't matter whether the road is smooth, or bumpy, or dirt in games likes Colin Mcrae rally games you won't feel anything, is this true?

No it is not true in rally games you feel every bump in the road.
Even in GT prologue on the ps3 if the road has bumps you feel it.
The amount of FFB depends on how the game is programmed.
The last week or two i have been playing Ferrari Challenge on the ps3 and the FFB is very strong.
If you look at the overclockers site page for the wheel there are some customer reviews.

many thanks Ian

You have really helped me out a lot, I always thought the G25 was incredible from all the reviews that I have read, and then comes along that video review comparing it to the Porsche wheel. That just shows some people don't know what their talking about even when they own both wheel. Well actually every users opinion is different!

Thanks again

I think the G25 wheel is the best I have tried to date and though I have not tried the Porsche one I did have a GT3, so I suppose that's better than a plastic wheel ;) My game of choice is iRacing and the force feedback in that game is very well realised and works very well with the G25. I used an old Momo Force before, the good one with the red base but the G25 is well ahead of that and the pedals are much better. I think the clamping could work better and the separate gearstick is not that great but in terms of pedal and wheel the G25 is very good in my experience.

I've had the wheel since January and its been awesome I still use it a few times a week where my other wheels get packed away for a month or so then come out for 2 weeks until they get boxed up to save space. But on the PC the G25 is just so much fun even if its just cruising on Live For Speed.

You do feel the bumps and everything but it isn't I vibration as such and more of a quick jolt for left to right by the wheel which feels a lot better. Even playing Sega Rally arcade edition it emulates the strength of the wheel as it would have been in the arcade. Rally games are very good if you want to be jolted about and fancy a fight with your desk to see who will break first!

But saying all this I haven't tried it on the PS3 and depending on how many settings you can change you might get different results. But on PC it comes with some in-depth software which allows you change almost anything about the wheel (FFB, Rotation etc)
