anyone looking forward to AC/DC's new album due out this month ?

Black Ice.

i wonder if in 30+ years they can make a new album that has something new and exciting in it.

There is nothing new and exciting on it.
Last night I played it over a 3000 watt PA system to an audience full of ACDC fans who come to watch us and I was asked to turn it off.

Not very interesting tbh. No idea how it could be called "back in black" 2 or the like.

I heard the opening track on Radio 2 the other day, it was distinctly average and a tad confused , not great.

Last night while sound checking I picked up the guitar and started to play Rock N Roll Train and one person recognised what I was playing which summed it up for me.
To be honest our following turn up for the Bon Scott tunes.

I'm as big an AC/DC fan as it's possible to be. I can honestly say that the only really good album they've made with Brian was Back in Black - everything since has been mediocre at best.

HOWEVER, live, they're a different matter. Still as lound, brash and ballsy now as they ever were. Little Angus is now a balding, middle-aged guy - but he still fills that schoolboy uniform like a sack of hyperactive ferrets.

I'll still be buying the album no matter how crap it is - I have virtually everything they've ever pressed. Cost me a fortune in Aussie imports, back in the day :/

Good for you :)

There is only so much of the chord 'A' that people can put up with.

(Incidentally I played the drums on 2 songs last night - Deuce & Shout It Out Loud by KISS. Lets just say that because of the copius amounts of beer sold I got away with it :)).

Im not a big fan of AC/DC but ill definately listen to the new album when i get chance.

I've got it.
I like it.
It's not amazing, but it's good and easy to listen to. I can't see any songs off it making it into a live set though, really. Rock and Roll train probably, but nothing else. They'll be better off sticking to a best of set for their tour.
7/10.
