Is undertaking allowed down here if you can't be bothered waiting to overtake the slower traffic like everyone else?
Because every moron down here dives into the outside lane the moment they see the traffic slowing.

What I'm on about is people who do it when the motorway is congested, but doing more than 70mph.
No excuse to undertake people who are doing 80mph at all IMO.
If it's possible to undertake you, YOU'RE IN THE WRONG ****ING LANE

Individually none of the cars are in the wrong lane, but collectively, they all are.
They're achieving nothing, they may as well be achieving nothing in the inside lane.
Do you mean formation flying? i.e. everyone sits in the inside lane waiting for the guy in the outside to get past the guy in the middle lane? What will you do when you come across this? Get behind the outside lane guy. Everybody waiting in the middle/inside wouldn't work very well in medium-heavy traffic as they'd never get let out. Not down these parts anyway.
I tried not undertaking for the first few weeks, now I do it, but gradually as whoever said above, i'll plonk at 70 and try not to mouth nice words at people I drift past.
EDIT: Not trying to be insulting but it's late and the keyboard is hard to reach for a more lengthy reply![]()
Basically the way I see it, if there's some numpty in the outside lane when he shouldn't be, he'll stay there until someone either intimidates him into moving over, or undertakes him so he actually has a chance at realising he's in the wrong lane
Might as well be me
I honestly don't remember the last time I made a journey to work in the morning without getting at least a 5-undertake combo, ie five cars in a row in the outside lane sat dead on 70 while I quite happily trundle past in the inside lane at 80ish. (Which, before anyone moans, is completely legal)
If you're sat there making no progress at all, I don't see any reason to be there at all, you may as well make no progress out of everyone's way.
You may say but if you all sat there making no progress, no one would be in the outside lane... and that's the point! It's for overtaking! Not for sitting in for your whole journey!
If you have five hundred cars all going the same speed, the outside lane should be empty. It's for overtaking. People don't get that
