E-pee and cars

I don't do that kind of thing!

I just give really evil looks if it needs to be done ¬_¬

Do you indicate as well?!

If so, I'm sorry but you don't qualify and must hand the car back :);)

Flashing inferior cars out of OUR lane is what has to be done.

I tend to just focus on my lane when on the motorway wafting along at x cruise speed without worrying about anything until something is going too slow in the lane!

I do indicate.

Another thing that grinds my gears (ho ho). Driving along on the motorway with the cruise control set to 80mph. I pull into the right lane to overtake traffic in the middle which is doing around 70mph. We come to a downward hill. The driver in the middle has a set throttle position and accelerates as we proceed downhill and matches my speed and sometimes accelerates past me. This means I have to accelerate to get back into the middle lane when there is traffic behind me wanting past or if there's no traffic behind me, pull in behind the middle lane driver.

Then we come to an uphill, I'm sitting behind the same person. They keep their foot firmly in the same position and as a result slow to about 60mph on the uphill. I either have to slow down to match or overtake. There's a point on the M3 where this happens every time I go to and from work (between junctions 11 and 12).

ARGH. WHY CAN YOU NOT MAINTAIN A STEADY SPEED!?!?!?!

This! Very much so.

And I don't have cruise control.

I do not think it would wash with a copper if I gave this explanation if I was pulled.

Some mindless copper in a dog van once did as the OP mentioned to me.

On the way home from work one night, he was in the inside lane doing about 65mph. I was already doing just over 70 so moved out and started to overtake. All of a sudden he matches my speed

I just mashed the loud pedal in 5th and pulled into the inside to which he pulls out into the outside lane (only me and him on that section of motorway at the time) and races off.

*******.

Reminds me of a time I was doing some Motorway driving at night, and this boy racer passes me in his pimped out shopping trolley. Fair enough I think, I was in the inside lane. Then later I have to pass him as he is doing about 60, to which he takes major offense and after I move in he canes it past at about 80. Lo and behold, 5 minutes go past and I pass him doing 70 again and he gets angry and flies past me. After this he sat in front of me for the rest of the trip flicking fag ends out the window and onto my bonnet.

You could always do 60 and stay out of the outside lane altogether.
Much nicer drive as 90 percent of your drive is in an empty lane. :D
and you save even more fuel.

Intimidation like driving 3ft from their rear bumper and flashing your lights?

I hate people who do that. Why do you need to get where you're going so much quicker than me?

I don't flash. And if someone's actually overtaking, I won't tailgate or try to push them out. But if some ****ing numpty is overtaking at .5 mph faster than who they're passing, or if they're going the same speed as whoever's in the lane to their left, or if the lane to their left is clearly empty, then yeah you're damn right I'll sit on their bumper, because THEY'RE IN THE WRONG ****ING LANE AND I HAVE PLACES TO BE

I respond to people like you by crashing into the back of your car and dying, making you feel awful for two or three days
Perchance do you drive a K reg Cavalier with gaffer tape on the bumper and do you lean forward over the steering wheel waving your arms and shouting obscenities? Most tailgaters I encounter often seem to fit this stereotype. They're usually poor, probably commit benefit fraud too.

Although, I had an E36 driven by a black king (I assume he was a king due to the amount of gold he had draped over him) take issue with me last week because I had the nerve to do 30mph in a 30mph residential zone. I must say, he really taught me a lesson by scorching a flat spot into his front tyres.

I ride a moteybike, so I don't actually do a lot of tailgating. It's usually easier to just undertake as soon as I'm sure they're not going to suddenly decide to drive properly and punt me off the road

Actually as annoying as it is, if somebody is in the outside lane doing 70.3mph passing somebody in the middle lane doing 69.7mph then as much as it annoys you they are in the correct lane and are in 'the right'.

Sorry about that. Driving a car with cruise really starts to explain why people do this - its very annoying coming up behind a car going just a bit slower than you. It also explains the whole overtaking HGV thing.

We may wish to go faster than the speed limit but thats our personal choice and it's wrong of any of us to be quite so bloody rude about those who chose not to do the same as us. We must wait patiently for them to complete their justifiable, legal move.

Buy a traillie, pop up the front wheel, accelerate, connect your front wheel with the top of the boot lid and gun it - just drive over the top of the car. That way you know for sure you won't get side swiped.

Also for clarity can somebody explain the thread title as I'm not sure what these have to do with cars..
