Its nice to have a console on the go if friends come round, and if you wanna chill out.

I would wager that you would use it more than you first think. I know I did.

At the price its a great bit of kit, even if you use it for media streaming.
 
well the problem with the PS3 is the absolute dearth of RPGS :/

Ive been waiting Sony ive been really patient... almost 2 years man...

only things coming up soonish are

Valykrie Chronicles
Eternal Sonata
Fallout 3
Rise Of the Argonauts
Disgage 3 (not interested)

3 of which are cross platform anyway...and the demo of VC while decent wasnt spectacular.. and im not a fan of Disgeaga series

i mean wtf... all the biggies are ETA 2009 (white knight story, FFXIII)

and the mighty Star Ocean 4 is apparently a 360 exclusive just wtf...

Theres nothing that the PS3 has in RPG exclusives...just nothing.. and when you consider the amount of sheer quality RPGS on the PS2 its a travesty of justice :(

+ Phantasy Star Universe, Enchanted Arms (multi), Infinite Undiscovery, Last Remnant (timed) this Nov and Tales of Vesperia in March.

and.. I've finished all of the ones that are out and would say Eternal Sonata was my least favourite!

I might be a little jrpged out and I've no plans to pick last Remnant on release though no doubt I will play it next year, but Tales of Vesperia does look good and is reputed as being as much as 120 hours long!

problem with buying a 360 is then i would be unsure which platform to get cross-platform games on. Because in some cases YES the ps3 version looks better. :p

But yeah i like the look of Infinite Undiscovery & Tales of Vesperia.

ohh i did not know that Last Remnant was coming out 360 first this November.. wasnt that originally a ps3 exclusive? its hard to tell nowadays Sony lose so many of em....

It was announced as a 'Square Enix rpg for the world', both platforms, all territories same day. It then became a 360 timed exclusive and my guess is Square just wanted to get it out for the holidays and the 360 version was finished and they were having PS3 problems. The PS3 version is still tbc.
 
Believe me, if you are an avid gamer, then getting the 360 as well will be a really good move.. remember is has a higher number of higher rated games then the PS3 at the moment, and with a lot of them being old catalog titles at ludicrously cheap prices, you'd have to be mad not to.. And it doesn't matter which cross platform titles are better, you'll always be able to buy the 'best' version!


But if you don't play that many games, and it really will be for Fable 2 only, then I see your dilema...
 
If you want to get Fable 2 then i think MS are doing some package deal's soon enough (not sure about when in EU though). You're not buying into the 1 game but a back catalogue of fantastic games. Make sure you pick Mass Effect up as well if you decide on it :D.

I have most of the current gen gaming systems, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS and a pretty high end PC, i dont see the point of getting a console for one game. For me its only Fable 2 i want for the 360, like i said that will I expect go to PC. Its not about money its more about time, too many games i want to play on the PS3, PSP, PC, Wii etc so i would even less time lol. As for JRPGs i have the two best consoles for them so far this gen, the PSP and DS, they have had far better JRPGs than the home consoles at this point, so far all i have seen is cookie cutter last gen games with nicer graphics. White knight Story looks to be a bit different, but they all seem to wait till the new FF game comes out to start trying new things.
